Yeah true, I guess that is what they are doing quite often so the defensive hybrid player can tuck in and make a three while the natural full-back adds to the attack.I think that's the trend. Have one FB/CB hybrid and one true FB, so the true FB can play higher.
What I don't understand is why the teams always play those 2 on the same sides. If you switch them around from time to time, you could cause some serious problems.
Exactly. Plus, if you build the squad smartly, you can have one CB/FB for each side and one true FB for each side and use them as needed.Yeah true, I guess that is what they are doing quite often so the defensive hybrid player can tuck in and make a three while the natural full-back adds to the attack.
Good point about switching them around - it would make them more unpredictable. Could even do it within games with the 5 subs rule - could seriously unbalance or confuse some opponents.
Aye. It does seem a bit like a wasted opportunity in these times of many subs and the squad being paramount. Like you say they could seriously prepare for every eventuality with the full-backs/centre-backs.Exactly. Cut @Horatio some slack buddyGundogan's problems playing without the ball were evident last season. I wrote about this and was glad he left. But some people who think they know football tried to convince me that these problems were not so serious.
0-4 at home vs Tottenham
City might still take the title tho
