Why you taking shots at us bro?

This aint it chief.

You're allowed to mock Morten all you want though.

Which reminds me......how did all your predictions of "Mou going back to RM any day now" go
I will admit, for a time it looked like it was on the table, but its still funny that you were wrong for months.

Hey, a little mocking here and there is all good.

Are you not Norwegian? Half of your country's current fortunes are due to the oil and gas while having a tiny population, man. Read not many years ago that Scandinavia was piss poor until 100 years ago (been the case for most of recorded history apparently). You guys have a GDP (nominal) per capita comparable to the likes of Qatar with their 250.000 natives (citizens) sitting on the second largest gas reserves (or third if I recall) in the world.

LOL, in fact Qataris have a significantly lower GDP (nominal) per capita than the average Norwegian. Even worse.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal)_per_capita

All that black gold and natural gas.

Okay? Tell me when the nation of Norway starts financing football clubs, are there any?

Okay? Tell me when the nation of Norway starts financing football clubs, then i wont hesitate going after them(and no, RBK isnt financed by Norway either).

You are preaching to the wrong guy here. My dislike of QSG and their model is well-known here. Just a funny observation. Nothing else. Wish Spain and Italy had as much black gold and oil but I guess the Spanish Colonial Empire and the Roman Empire is more than enough for the next many millennia in terms of getting filthy rich.

Anyway fuck QSG.

Well, you probably should, maybe your league would have improved tenfold? Always wondered why such a thing never occurred and why Rosenborg from freaking Trondheim (far from being the largest city in Norway) has been the by far most successful club. Do people in Oslo not play football or what is it about? Much further down south too and with a more mild climate. Don't get it.

No shots taken just some facts thrown around. A bit funny though. You guys have the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world too due to that same black gold and gas, to make matters even worse. Bloody hell.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign_wealth_fund#Largest_sovereign_wealth_funds

Talk about winning the lottery.

Nothing against Norway at all, mate. Currently working in Copenhagen and you guys being a former Danish colony for some 500 years (if I am not wrong) and speaking a Danish dialect. Can't dislike such a country and even less so given your nature, mostly mountains and fjords.

Morten is the resident RM pessimist (we have what, 2 RM fans here?) and the equivalent of our own Luftstalag in this regard. Harmless guy from what I have seen and at times quite funny. Not sure if deliberately though, lol.

On paper, but not in real life.

I`d rather not say anything about Oslo and football, DonAk might find it offensive(isnt he from around those parts?), and i wouldnt blame him for it.

Anyways, the day Norway started financing RBK is the day im no longer a fan, but i guess...if every club in the country got an equal share? Still dont like the idea though.

Yeah. I think that written Norwegian and Danish is almost identical. Spoken it is another thing from what I have seen. Still understandable given the closeness. Similar to how a Spaniard and Italian will understand each other without much problem mostly and likewise a Spaniard and Portuguese.

I don't mind it.

People in Oslo do play sports, but they admittedly have a far better sports culture up around Trondheim.

As for Mourinho Morten then I never expected Zidane to make a comeback. Had it not been for him you guys would have hired good ol' Mou.

Well, without money none of the top dogs, including the top leagues, would go around. Money makes the world go around. The biggest problem in Norway (even if the state started bankrolling all clubs and the first division) is lack of a football culture comparable to the elite leagues of Europe and thus lack pf prestige. This coupled with the climate (can't play football for half of the year if I am not wrong) and lack of a sufficiently big enough population. A bit tough circumstances but injecting money to the league and talent work won't probably hurt.

Just look at Qatar. They won their first AFC Cup this year, mostly with players from Qatar actually, due to investing money in the Aspire Academy and mostly headhunting Spanish managers. Their current manager (the guy that won them their first AFC Cup in history) is a former youth manager for us.

Dude, please don't compare us to the Danes. Have you heard them speak Danish? Oh my god it's horrible. Written Danish and Norwegian are close, but I can understand a Swede better than a Dane.

Without going into detail, i dont think its comparable to Spanish people and Italians.
Its not due to differences in the actual written language, its just that....Danish people dont really pronounce words.

We are a small nation without much of a culture for football, if we are to become big, it would be all big transfers abroad.
I think that project would be quite futile, a gigantic waste of money on parts of the government, we are never going to become an elite league, and thats okay.

Heard Danes say the exact thing about you Norwegians. However yes, Danish is notoriously difficult to learn for foreigners. Some of the words are completely impossible for me to pronounce (almost) and I always had an ease of learning languages and have a great command of several languages too. However a Dane and a Norwegian won't really have much trouble communicating. Similarly with Swedes, really. If speaking slowly and clearly. The latter obviously a problem for most Danes even when they speak English.

Anyway guys, we are vastly off-topic.

Well, at least money being put into talent work, would not hurt would it? You guys are literally drawning in money. Stable neighborhood tucked away from any possible dangers other than the big bear in Russia in the far north. No territorial disputes. Much like Denmark minus the Russian bear being next door and the oil and gas money. Apparently some drunk former Danish foreign minister gave most of your oil/gas fields away in some negotiation or so I was told once. Not sure if accurate, though. At least they still have Greenland and the Faroe Islands while you guys have that uninhabited island next to Antarctica? Never understood how the hell that is possible? Any historical connection to Amundsen and his conquest of Antarctica?

For all it is worth I tend to eat Norwegian salmon at least once or twice each month and every Norwegian girl that I have met has been kind and most tended to be good lucking as well. Better than the Danes.

It's not a lack of football culture. It's just that our football system is trash and followed the English model which flopped until they in the last 10 years started focusing on technique and tactics at youth level rather than kick and run, big physical players and crossing all day long.

Norway is a very anglophilic country.

Point taken and I forgot to mention that as well. However Denmark is anglophilic (although many like Spanish and Italian football from my experience) as well but since ages ago always had great technically gifted players. From the time of Simonsen, Arnesen, Lerby and such players not to mention the Laudrup brothers and more recently Eriksen or the GOAT Bendtner, lol. I honestly think that weather has a huge role to play here. While Denmark is no Spain or Italy weather wise to put it mildly it has a much better climate (comparable to much of neighboring Germany) to practice football in on an almost continuous yearly basis regardless of the time of the year. Can't say the same thing about Norway or Sweden. You guys have a football break for 4-5 months as well if I am not wrong and many of the stadiums use artificial turf. The Danish league for instance began over 1 month ago. Almost zero artificial turfs in the first division from what I know if any. The Brazilian NT would not have been the same had the country had the climate of say Mongolia. Can't underestimate this element.

Hey! Morten is a lot worse. At least I never capitulate before the first shot is fired and I don't intentionally jinx, certainly not as much as Morten and some do here. ;)
