Now that everyone has calmed a bit. Madrid's last win at the Bernabéu in the league was in 2014! They won 3-1

In 2015/16 we won 0-4
In 2016/17 2-3
In 2017/18 0-3
In 2018/19 0-1

Why do you pretend now that we haven't seen 1000s of posts like: ANYONE would be better than EV. This team will fly under ANY OTHER manager. ANY forum member would be better than EV.

Don't make me force to do it, I can easily find and post here posts from 100 DIFFERENT users with exactly the same phrases from the above.

So, no, it was not about: let's give a new coach a chance.
But about: EV was the worst coach in a history and guilty for all flaws.
Did you guys forget gems like:
Dembele is not dumb, it is EV's system.
Semedo is not braindead in attack, it is due to EV's system, he doesn't have any options.
Our team is not old, we are static due to EV's system.
Arthur is not afraid to pass forward, it is EV's system.
EV managed to ruin even Frenkie, who will fly under a new coach.
EV singlehandedly ruined La Masia. Under a new coach, who values our principles, these kids will play and fly, like in a good old times.
Our players don't run because of EV and his regimes (yet Messi, Busi and half of a team never run in their whole careers, more or less).
Not a single player in our team improved under EV, lol. (While we see a different story now, right?). What if these players can't improve, or 90% of them, since they are either old or horrible misfits?

Once again, his topic is named Retardo.
Is there a bigger insult on any other topic on a whole Barcaforum to any of our former players, coaches or presidents?
The only other insult in a topic name is Denise Suarez, iirc.

So, guys, sorry, but you are not honest if you think that about EV it was only about: let's give a new coach a chance.
A guy was insulted like the biggest enemy and a biggest cancer in the history of Barca.
Yet he overachieved with this shitty president and this horrible squad.
Imagine if his La Ligas will be our last trophies in a foreseeable future, which is quite likely in this team. Weird, isn't it?

I am not against Setien that much lately.
A poor guy can't do anything with this team, because NOBODY could.
This team would be the smae shit even under Pep himself. Because this team is dead and finished, and younger guys are either average or misfits.
But a few of us were repeating the same during EV, but no: different rules applied then.
We were just 2 steps away from a world class team: a new coach and 1-2 signings.

Lol.
We are more like 15 new signings and a several sacked coaches in a row away from a world class team in the future.

You're right about certain things, but
We are more like 15 new signings and a several sacked coaches in a row away from a world class team in the future.
is a overreaction.

True that. The question is who will drop less...

However, if RM loses to City and we advance against Napoli, they have the upper hand.

RM won't lose to City, City are serial bottlers and RM are exact opposite of that. Kroos wasn't in the first leg and he was instrumental against us.

I'd say we are 6-7 signing away from being a world class team.

The MUST haves:

-A new #9
-LW
-AM
-CB

Not a must but would be good to have:

-LB
-B2B mid

Optional signing:

RB - I personally don't care for this one too much. I like current Semedo and don't think there is an option available that would be worth an upgrade on him.

All these signings should be ~25 years old though. Please no 28+ year old short term solutions.

Real Madrid’s hardest games to close out the league are the following: real betis away, Valencia at home, sociedad away, Bilbao away, and Villarreal home.

I think RM will play much better with the extra confidence they received from the Clasico. Doubt they’ll bottle it. It’ll be very unlike them to bottle the league while winning the Clasico. This season is probably going to turn out like that 06-07 where we were level on points but they had the head to head

The difference is that we are playing AM while Madrid playing VFC. Other than that, we have easier games, I think.

Result, honestly doesn't bother me at all, they'll slip for sure couple of times...but the way we play, the way we regress instead improve...

What has Setien achieved in his career that makes him better than Valverde?

Real Betis barely created any chances under him. People remember the two wins against us and Real Madrid, but forgot the countless amount of games his teams passed the ball around aimlessly and got torn apart by other teams.

I don't like Valverde, but at least he won something at other clubs.

The only thing Setien does is talk.

Talk about how much he loves Pep Guardiola and Cruyff, yet his football resembles more that of Louis van Gaal. Even Pep has adapted his tactics and philosophy, but this guy is stuck on 2010 with a type of football he has no clue how to make it work.

To make it all worse his lineup and setup last night was exactly what Valverde used to come up with, except it didn't work this time.

It doesn't matter shit what EV has done elsewhere. Setien has been a manager for how long now? 1.5 months? You can't expect him to turn things around this early and that too with this many injuries.

The lineup wasn't bad, he benched Raki, the best he could have done was maybe start fati for Vidal but he probably had the idea of bringing him late against tired legs. His raki sub was weird though but I think it was just to get a fresh player instead since ours were tired.

If that was Ev against Real we would struggle to watch 90 minutes of it. We were attacking, creating plenty of chances, Rakitic was benched, this is already way better than EV.

Maybe people have forgotten just how bad EV was, he made us unbearable to watch, I would often skip our matches even when I wasn't too busy, something I never thought I would do in my life. Maybe he isn't all that great, will still be better than EV at the very least, but you can't judge that in 1.5 months with a depleted injury-ridden squad against Real away.

But who? You all want 10 new players but who?

Let me remind you: Milner - Handerson - Wijnaidum is midfield of currently unstoppable team in Europe! Would you take any of those 3?
I'm absolutely sure Arnold wouldn't do anything better than Semedo in our setup.
Haaland would look like clumy tree in our attack.
Who?
with this system only players that can work are those who most of us don't want - like Neymar, a player that can dribble pass 4 players once in a game.
Because this is our system!

There is something horribly wrong with this team, dawg.

This Madrid team is garbage but they were much quicker, fit and hungry than Barca.

There were only 2 players who looked like they could compete and match with Real's athleticism and that was Semedo and Braithwaite.

The rest of them look a million miles off fitness. Arthur, Messi, Umtiti and Alba were especially tragic.

This hurts more than anything.. This Madrid team is pathetic and looked 3 times the team we are. Which means we looked beyond pathetic
