Quique Setien

We need a high profile manager who takes absolutely no shit from no player and clears out the ones who don't want or can't put in a good effort on a game by game basis. That manager will only come under a proper board that will then give him absolute powers in the team.

No high profile manager would touch the job.

Setien tried to change things and lasted a couple of weeks.

The players wont lose that battle and any prospective manager knows it.

We played a good first half but fell in the second half due to various reasons:

1) Fatigue, it?a obvious judging from our previous history is that we?re not the brightest in the fitness department, we don?t run the most, none of that. So, you add to that we?re playing so many games in such a small time so you get burnt out players, also, you have to add to the fact that we have an aging squad.

2) The management, we had a great first half. However, that second half was just shades of Valvarde! everyone and their mothers saw that we needed energy in the box in the name of Fati, someone who?s able to hit on the counter, dribble and pin their fullback.

The Arthur sub was a given and it?s to inject the midfield with energy and stop it from getting overran. However, why stop there, why wait till the end of the match to bring someone from the bench?

Something else I?ve noticed is his tendency of playing Vidal on the side, that kills him, he?s not the most gifted player and when you stick him on the wings you kill any influence he can have on the match, Vidal should of been pushed inside the box with Puig in for either Busi or Raki.

Other than that, I see some complaints about Suarez playing the full match, lets face it lads, he?s our only attacker who can annoy the hell out of defenders and provide runs, we need him there.

At last, I don?t think this liga is ours to win, we?re just short on so many levels plus this schedule is already killing our dead squad.

Felt since day one his philosophy of play is of no avail to such set of players, goals, tactics of 2020 and chances of success and I kind of feel sad I was right.

Makes subs way too late. Bringing on Puig in the 88th minute is just pointless, should of been on, along with Fati 15/20 minutes earlier.

Quique Seti?n: "We knew that it was going to be almost impossible to win all our remaining games. I'm not satisfied, but one point is still more than nothing."

Man did a complete 180 from his welcoming press conference. Playing attacking football and having a winning mentality, yeah... This quote says it all, he was content with a draw. Made the subs late and did not bring Fati on for the same reasons.

he would have been sacked by now, but was saved by the pandemic. problem is we might not sack him until mid to late august.

Gotto admit, don't want him here around anymore for next season, hope he and the players can win LL, that alone would be massive given the circumstances but that's it, imo it is almost impossible we can grab hold of CL with him at the helm and with one leg KO stages without Camp Nou "advantage" games provided we can get past Napoli at home, ofc.

Setien: ?I only guarantee one thing. My teams play well.?

Remember that?

His hands are tied.

Cant play the pressing, movement type game in an older team built round Messi.

Could do more within that but he quickly seems to have realised the players and team cant play any other way.

I mean you can drop points to Sevilla away, but at least in style. We were completely shit after 30 minutes and probably should have lost. No idea why he waited for minute 70 to make changes when we looked completely depleted at the start of the 2nd half.

Probably the truth. This team is finished. I wish they would tell that to the management. They need to deal with this.

Give him the rest of the season and lets move on. Clearly not the man for the job.

Exact same thing will happen with next man in.

Messi, Suarez, Pique, Alba, Busi etc will self preserve and fight back against tougher group training and tactics not revolved around them as main core of team.

Thats why we need a strong character. A top, top coach. The board will never hire someone like that because they can't control him.
