Quique Setien

Setien can set this club on the path to greatness again. Not with his football or tactics but by benching the fuck out of the amigos. As soon as they start getting benched the player civil war that?s brewing will start and inevitably the veterans lose their influence. Come on Setien, some things are bigger than saying you managed Messi for two seasons.

like it or not, it's the amigos that got/keeping us in this title race. setien might have tried something different but doesn't have the personnel. plus he is a mediocre manager, right now struggling to keep up with valverde's achievements.

When people used to say for Months: "It can't be worse than EV"

I used to write something like:
10% chance that any new manager will improve the team
30% that it will be the same
60% that it will be even worse

The same applies for the next coach after Setien.
Chances for an improvement are always the smallest.

Remember in 2000s:
Van Gaal
Serra Ferrer
Rexach
Van Gaal 2
Antic
Rijkaard

We fired Van Gaal in 2000 hoping for a better solution and needed 5 new attempts until we finally found one.

It probably won't be different this time.
Why should it be?

It's the players. We need new player's and coach with new ideas and philosophy. Also freedom for the new coach to get players he wants. Otherwise we will be stuck in this same crap for a long time.

Messi is the answer. Early 2000s we did not have the GOAT.

What is the most hilarious is people who loved Valverde and hate his twin brother Setien.

Valverde would have won back to back trebles and an undefeated season if he had some luck.

In a parallel universe Zidane wins 0 UCL and no league that's how close football is. No last minute Ramos goals no offside goals by Ronaldo they don't win UCL.

EV first season was genius, everyone predicted Real Madrid would dominate but we had the best defence in the league, Alba, Iniesta Rakitic looked finished under Lucho but EV breathed new life into the aging core and adapted perfectly to losing Neymar.

What has Setien ever done to warrant praise? Setien is literally EV without the talent. Real Madrid were Valverde's whipping boys, he has the best clasico record out of an manager. Setien literally lost his first Clasico. And got us knocked out of the Copa.
