The players have given up on him.
He's far from perfect and made his mistakes but I actually feel for him.
Yeah, he tried to change things, but once he hit resistance from the parts of the club who should have been on board, he's given up. Seems similar a bit with Tata Martino's season.
Now, strategically, we need to let these old veterans have their way next season, and put pressure on them to deliver the next La Liga at least. And if not, if they fail next season, that should be seen as ultimate confirmation that heavy rebuilding is needed and that their approach is dead for the future.
We should have had this confirmation since 2 years ago when one of the main objectives of the club, the Champions League, turned into ugly humiliations consistently.
In no way or shape these veterans should be today in this super powerful position after the disasters they delivered in Europe since 2015-16.
