Quique Setien

Quique Seti?n: "Griezmann? I see him doing well, the problem is that not everyone can play. I didn't bring him on earlier because I thought we were playing well, Riqui did well, and we always try to have Su?rez and Messi on the pitch."

"and we always try to have Su?rez and Messi on the pitch."

This is just so damning. Setien and so many people around the club (including plenty of idiot twitter/reddit fans) actually believe nonsense like Suarez is still among the best forwards in the world and Busquets is the best CDM in the world, that "we always should try to have them on the pitch". People actually still think these guys are indispensable. It's criminally insane.

They don't even try to use 1 ounce of their brainpower to try to observe.

Suarez has got too much weight (no pun intended). He is probably our second biggest figure in the dressing room just by the virtue of being Messi?s best friend and neighbor.

Bring back the great detective Kogoro Valverde

This is brilliant picture.

Honestly not feeling sad, angry or vindicated about him. Will collect his fat paycheck, be set for life and continue to enjoy life in rural Spain. He had no chance with this group of players.

So sad man. Everything I feared and talked about since 2013 have ended up happening :(

Probably half of my Barcaforum posts. I know it goes in cycles, but this club have failed at rebuilding, redeveloping, going in the right direction.

thats a black and white way of looking at things and assuming all anyone cares about in football is taking home millions.

ah yes, forgot about reputation built by coaching a big team. but that also is about money in the end. they all care about money.

sure, there are examples of established players/managers who can do whatever they want because money comes easy to them. they are the exceptions because they are already at a certain level.

True words. His dream of becoming Barca coach happened, made a lot of money. Could be worse I guess.

Even the management has to see it now. We are close to end now.

.

Well, it took us 7 years
tbf, what we had with Rijkaard then Pep and then Lucho was a rare thing, now you add semi good seasons with Tito & EV and we were lucky to get so much trophies for so long.

Downfall was expected, but tbh what hurts most is wasting resources. The Dembele-Coutinho and worse Griezmann is just insane.
Griezmann money alone could have helped to rebuild defense and midfield, while attack would have been the same.

That's because before we had a board who had football people advising them e.g Laporta trusting Guardiola,Cruyff and Begiristain. Our remaining success since then has been from the foundations they laid. The core players who of course needed phasing out and replacing now enabled us to carry on through the Rossell/Bartomeu years.

Every signing since in their era has usually been sold 2 years later at most the exception being the 2014/15 transfer window and most Masia players are now shipped out without a chance of breaking in the first team.

He will get more chances as a coach now, being former Barca coach.
Before joining us his move to Brazil failed because he wasn't big enough name, and was on his way to coach Pyramids FC in Cairo. Now, at worst he will go and coach a gulf club with heavy paycheck since he is former coach of Messi.

Yeah I expected a regression however with some good signings along the way we could still be a top three team right now with a shorter rebuild.

The only good midfielder we have signed since Rakitic who seem to be a good fit is Frenkie. That's just shockingly bad.

We need to be flexible with midfield.
Frenkie ain't either DM or CM here, even him admits that.
We need to allow him to use his strength, otherwise he will face Arthur fate.
Ideally we will allow him to be a deep CM/2nd DM and get a spoiler to play beside him, then get someone creative with playmaking. Who knows, may be Puig will be like that.
