Next season will be worse.

34 year old Messi
34 year old Suarez
34 year old Pique
34 year old Vidal
33 year old Rakitic
32 year old Busquets
32 year old Alba
31 year old Pjanic

Griezmann will turn 30 and Roberto 29 and will only be a few years out from entering geriatric status as well.

Another weak mid-table manager will be installed and we won't compete for anything.

Enjoy.

Paco Jemez incoming

I'll never 'give up' on Barca as a club but if things dont change this summer ie Suarez and a few seniors getting sold then fuck watching them until the 2021 elections

as @jairzinho said 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.'

Yup that's why I said give up on this 'team'.

Barca is finished until this team is phased out.

These senior players are now past the point of holding this club from progressing, they are now contributing to the decay of this club.

Can't blame them though, who wouldn't accept multiple year mega million contracts to play football at a top club into your mid-30s? It's a dream for any footballer. Forget China, Middle East or MLS. Barca is here for the taking.

Xavi won't come. It's very very likely that it'll be Pimienta.

I know that Xavi doesnt want to come yet but if he is coach now, at least senior players will respect him and not go against him since he is absolute legend. He can influence the team well in a short time aka UCL this season (only one match per round).

Pimienta would be cool as well.

Both are better than Setien now who complete lost it

Xavi will not want to besmirch his legacy by getting involved with the current situation. He'll wait at least a year.

Pimienta would be a fool to take the job.
There are no upsides to managing this team.
Xavi isn't ready yet. Even if he does come I don't think he is the man to lift this club out of its current state.

Like most users have said, only hope is new board. Don't expect much next season either. I fully expect Real to win La Liga next year also. Maybe Copa goes to us but we'll see.

Setien is done, had some hope for change with him but that didn't last long. Let's see who get's thrown under the bus next, probably Pimienta.

But coaches aside the team is dead as well. It's so god damn slow it's painful to watch. Griezmann benched while Barca loses the league title against Atletico was just icing on the cake.

I'd keep Setien if we are getting rid of amigos and start to re-build. It's hard to influence and bring about changes with so many senior players. That won't happen though as indicated by Arthur-Pjanic swap that only deepens our problems as we are looking for shot-term solutions.

We're in much deeper shit than in 2008 when pep only needed to axe few players. Hard times ahead but at least we're gonna get rid of all this entitlement. In players and fans alike.

He doesn't look like a tactical mastermind to me, whatever limitations the board and the locker room bring upon him. That said, it's silly to expect 32yo+ players to carry the team, even more so with a game every 3 days. And he should be able to explain this and make appropriate calls.

The right thing would have been to start a phase out period for these guys, a couple of years ago, by bringing younger guys who can gradually take minutes off of them. I really don't blame any of them for wanting to play. No player ever just stepped down on his own at 32.

We have no real backup for Suarez (braithwaite just arrived and is not eligible for CL) for years now.

We have no backup at all for Messi for years now. Dembele was to be it I guess, and that pretty much says it all.

We have no backup for Pique.

We have no backup for Busquets.

Our backup for Jordi is freaking Firpo, who just arrived this year and is not a great player.

Every player who we brough to play on the left wing has flopped worse than the previous one, leaving us with a 17yo as the best option.

Arthur who was supposed to be a future player for us, has regressed so much, to the point that a 20yo Puig makes him look insignificant (Although I have high hopes for Puig, he still is 20yo with no experience).

The carrying core of the team should be 23-29 yo, surrounded by a couple (at most) of our 32+ stars and some youngsters here and there.

The veterans care about winning and need to be convinced that the coach's methods will lead to that.

I think it's too simple to assume that the veterans enjoy losing while being comfortable.

And how exactly Valverde convinced them?

We have a backup for Busi in De Jong. Actually he is a much better player for DM position than current version of Busi but we are using him as a CM/AM player. Players we bought to play as left wingers are not left wingers. Only Dembele can play there. So of course they all flopped.
