This was Real Madrid on low morale after 2 consecutive defeats without Ronaldo, without Ronaldo's replacement Hazard, without Modric, with Benzema who scored 2 goals in his last 14 games, with Zidane awaking Marcelo from the tombstones and we got shat on in the second half with Pique off the line clearance, Mats superhuman save + 2 goals from players like Vinicius who averages about 1 goal per season.

At no point did Barca create three 100 % chances and the few half chances were no result of tactical team play. One over the top Busquets pass to Messi out of nowhere and one standard play Alba cross to Griezmann were the best chances of the entire game for Barca.

Even Pep managed a CL away win against these lot, that's the state Real Madrid are in. And your guy got wrecked. You looked too deep into your glass maybe. Take your L and move on.

Valverde was the worst treated coach just like Trump is the worst treated US president

Can we just stop this? Valverde wouldn't have won shit this season with how things were going when he got sacked. And the football was terrible. No matter what Setien will achieve or not achieve Valverde wasn't a good solution either. Also this current team isn't what Valverde took over and he actually is partly responsible for the state of the team right now. He was there for the downfall, playing his favorite veterans week in and week out with no intention of changing anything. Most of the blame is on the board for that development but Valverde surely didn't do anything to stop it.

I'm still more than happy he got sacked and i'm not even a fan of Setien.

Busi, Frenkie, Arthur in midfield, with Ansu to the left, Griezmann center and Messi to the right. That's what been most promising under Setién.

This was RM away with a shit load of injuries. Even in that he managed to bench rakitic and we should have been 3-0 up in the first half itself.

Back then EV would make us play like shit and we would win luckily 1-0 but now we play well but lose and people still cling onto results. Real Betis barely created any chances under him. People remember the two wins against us and Real Madrid, but forgot the countless amount of games his teams passed the ball around aimlessly and got torn apart by other teams.

I don't like Valverde, but at least he won something at other clubs.

The only thing Setien does is talk.

Talk about how much he loves Pep Guardiola and Cruyff, yet his football resembles more that of Louis van Gaal. Even Pep has adapted his tactics and philosophy, but this guy is stuck on 2010 with a type of football he has no clue how to make it work.

To make it all worse his lineup and setup last night was exactly what Valverde used to come up with, except it didn't work this time.

Our fitness is awful, we obviously lack natural speed (some players), but I didn't see professional team with so low stamina. This is down to training, when I remember EV's word about fitness I want to puke.

Whats with Barcelona and coaches who like to make weird adjustments?

He came in and played with his 3 at the back and it failed miserably because we dont quite have the players for it. So, he switched to a 4-3-3 with Fati on the wing along with Messi and Griez interchanging positions and it worked out, we were creating chances and making improvements. However, instead of working on that, he tears up the 4-3-3 with Fati on the wing and instead plays some awkward 4-4-2/4-3-3 with Vidal on the wing.

Why? like, who is he trying to outsmart?

Like, even when Valvarde played Paulinho, he didn’t stick him on the wing, no, he instructed him to make runs into the box so Messi could spot his runs. However, Setien is doing none of that, instead, hes sticking Vidal on the wing and rendering him useless because we all know hes no winger and his ball control in open space is already rubbish imagine in tight spaces.

Quit messing around and revert back to the 4-3-3, play your ONLY winger so you can stretch the field, FIELD Vidal as a midfielder with licenses to go forward against parked buses, STOP playing one legged Umtiti who can barely jog.

Unbelievable! We are fighting who is worse Setien or Valverde! The truth is they are both mediocre managers and none of those two should have gotten a chance to coach a club like Barca! To be fair any manager would struggle to score without a center forward and wingers. It didn't help that Griezmann bottled his chances and Messi had the worst Clasico of his career.

Bottom line is our squad is thin, and our forward line is non existing. We have the ball but have nothing to do with it, we can't play to the wings, we can't pick out runs through the middle, all we have is griezmann who isn't a striker giving one-two's and the ocassional run from the midfielders. It's a spear with no tip.

This Madrid team is garbage but they were much quicker, fit and hungry than Barca.

There were only 2 players who looked like they could compete and match with Real's athleticism and that was Semedo and Braithwaite.

The rest of them look a million miles off fitness. Arthur, Messi, Umtiti and Alba were especially tragic.
