In all my years as a Barca fan I have never felt such apathy or even antipathy towards the club in general.
I don't look forward to the matches anymore. There is no joy, no vibrancy in our football.
The only way forward is a trophyless season. The board will then be forced to take action against the seniors. If we win La Liga we are doomed to another season of these cunts.

Been a long time lurker and noticed you seem to always find an excuse to hope the team goes trophyless. First it was EV getting sacked, now the board. You would think you weren't following the most trophy laden team of the decade with the greatest ever footballer and possibly greatest ever club side in 2011.

Yeah, you forgot to mention the historic humiliations of late in cl plus a general history of underachieving in cl.
With all the super stars we've had we should have won more cl. Even Iniesta said that.

I hope he shows a bit of bravery and switches things up tonight. Too pedestrian and sterile at the moment and any decent team is able to cope. With the congestion of fixtures and age of the squad that is only going to get worse over the next few games unless things are freshened up.

It's great to have a few senior heads on the pitch but they must be balanced and harmonized with young legs. The average age in the last match was really too high.

tbf to Setein, considering the current squad what he said is true.
The seniors are still our best players. People always think grass is greener on the other side.
You put in Suarez, f* him, he is bad. Then you play without him and you realize that we are still bad if not worse without him.
Same when Braithwaite start over Griezmann, people were thinking it was good idea until he faces Seville defense, we realise he isn't really an upgrade.
Fati is good goal scorer, but still has long way to go, doubt he would have made a difference if he played against Seville.

Same goes for defense, Pique sucks for most people, and they are correct. But he is still our best CB right now.
Busquets & Raki are bad? Ok, but Puig unlikely to be an improvement, Arthur decided to play like Mohamed Elneny, FDJ took 3 step back under Setien possession football (he is a vertical player, so bad fit for our new possession style)

Barca really are stuck because we simply sucks when it comes to build a sport project.

And before people starts with the usual argument of " barca need a coach who forces his well on the club" it simply doesn't happen unless you are super big name.
When Pep came, he was told to shut up and play Eto and that we weren't going for Adebayor. He had all support of Crujif/Laporta/Txiki that allowed him to work his magic on the team.

Same happened with Bartou early years, he gave full authority to Zubi & Lucho, once he started to get involved it all went downhill from there.

Agree. The blame lies in the people who brought players and staff to the club who are not good enough for Barca and weren't even that good at their old clubs. Many people could see at the time that those players were not up to it. Hardly anyone wanted Griez for example.

The fact that the 'Amigos, who are the only ones at the club who have ever risen above that mediocrity are the ones getting majority of the blame is something I find somewhat vulgar to be honest. If Amigos throw their toys out of the pram because they are being replaced by a far better player then attack them all you want. But that hasn't happened yet.

So, you're basically surprised that in a club that is obviously catering to the old core, the young players don't look well? No shit, what do you expect to happen? The strategy of the club is basically keeping the status quo and tailoring the club, from tactics, to training sessions, to everything to appease the veterans.

Sure, a tiny fraction of young talented players have the x factor, which is making them be an instant impact at any club, with any tactics, and any problems almost. Meaning they are THAT good. More or less, this is the standard to which you are holding the young players, and this is the standard they need to be in order to change anything at a club that is obviously moving in the opposite direction.

The main pool of young talent means players that will do great under the right environment. But when you demand that they do well with crap conditions, you stop looking for very good talented players. You go into exceptional-talent level. The young Neymars, the Mbappes.

Let's try some BBZ type of projection.

You have various type of talented young players.

We have

1. Players who are talented but need nurturing, mentorship, they need a platform in which they will develop, and they need a manager to do it. This means they are not that supremely talented to make it regardless of these things being present. You have here a good portion of the Liverpool players (except they started to transition to category no. 2). Many such players on Madrid, Bayern, and even Barcelona.

2. You have young superstars. Young Mbappe, young Ronaldo, young Messi, young Neymar, young Iniesta and so on. A select group of young players who basically are so rare that they will basically change any team they are part of. They simply have the X factor.

3. You have also the talented players who lack the mentality, the professionalism, to make the next step regardless of conditions from 1). Here you have basically someone like Quaresma, and players who were absolute wonders early on, but on the way they lost themselves.

The percentage of talented young players is something like 38% - category 1), 0.01% category 2), and the rest is 3).

Imagine having such a crap program, and almost no vision, as to only need players from category 2) that can come in at your team and change things up. That's Barcelona today.

De Jong, Arthur, are probably 1). People think they are crap because they are not 2).
