Rafa Benitez - The Destroyer of Teams

And the funny thing is goope decided to go all dramatic against one of the biggest Mou bashers here such as myself only because I liked his quote for different reasons as he made it out to be. :VdB:

What are your reasons?

>asking if I plan to leave this earth because of a forum discussion
>calling me dramatic

alright mate

To make it short, I liked it because it has turned into a stupid childish war of words between the ex and current Real Madrid managers and I hope this will continue for the upcoming season. More fun for us Barca fans watching these two dislikeable coaches having a go at each other for whatever reasons.

It just hurts that people laugh about things that would have made their blood boil 5 years ago if the situation would've been exactly the same except the person being attacked. I always thought I like Barca's fanbase and am proud to be part of it because they dislike bad minded people.

You know, being part of the good guys, mes que un club.

Seems like it is just an average football fanbase that doesn't really care about the character of people and likes everything that helps them / hurts their direct rivals, no matter if it's morally good or bad.

Am I just part of some average, opportunistic fanbase? Un club mes?

It is amazing that you judged the characteristics of almost the entire Barca fanbase based on the fact that a few of us felt his response to Benitez's wife was funny. Benitez's wife has no business commenting on Mou or anybody, whoever that person is. Mou said something witty to shut her up.

"Average", "opportunistic" fanbase? Not "good guys" any more? For what??

Sorry some of us felt his response was funny.

Rafa's wife tried a cheeky and completely unnecessary jab, Mourinho TKO'd her out of the game.

Heh, i can only imagine the reactions here if Barca had a fat coach, and Mourinho said it about him instead of Rafa. The entire forum would be raging

So you are accusing us of being hypocritical? Come on Morten, you didn't find that a bit funny at all? It wasn't really about who the target was, the Real Madrid or Barca head coach, it was really about the way Mou responded to such unfounded attack by Benitez's wife in the first place. I think I might have chuckled too if such attack originated from the wife of the Barca head coach.

So partisan.

Ofc, i know many are easily riled up when it comes to Mourinho, barca-fans even more so. I know the reactions would have been different for many. That said, i dont mind what Mourinho said, i dont take anything that he says seriously, i mostly just laugh at it. Mourinho is Mourinho, as far as im concerned, its just his thing doing stuff like that.

Matured :lol:. The only reason he isnt bashing Barca is because he wants to coach there one day, trying to steadily erase the bad history.

Dude, no, that ship sailed long ago. Frankly the only teams he might still manage are Portuguese NT, Bayern and RM.

That last quote though

Quite hilarious from Jose... Rafa wife shouldn't have said what she said...

In all honesty I think Mourinho has matured alot since he left spain, he has given us and Messi credit where it is due, of course many of the things he did and said in the past remain unforgivable, I think he is trying to change. We should recognize this and give him the benefit of the doubt, this latest comment of his seems like a bit of light banter :p

He didn't mature at all... it's just his results aren't helping him.. winning the EPL isn't a big deal anymore considering how they badly do in Europe & lately taken out by PSG..
if anything he lost the plot since his departure from RM and the players turning against him... which never happened before

Edit: To explain it:
1.) He is praising Messi to make Cristiano angry because he is still mad about Cristiano that he wasn't loyal to him until the very end.
2.) He is praising Barca because - he said this in one of his first if not his first press conference back at Chelsea - quote "this is the best team of the last 20-30 years. This makes my achievements in Spain even more special."

Damn, when got thrown out of Chelsea and worked at Inter and Chelsea and Madrid were is potential rivals in the CL he said "Drogba, Cristiano,...they are all divers."
When asked about this statement when he was in Madrid he said "Cristiano doesn't have the attitude of a swimming pool diver". A few years later he brought back Drogba to Chelsea.

Don't you see that he is always opportunistic and never really means what he says? It is always just to benefit his - not his teams - his short term goals.

I don't want to put up a fight with you but it seems so obvious to me that I'd really like to know why you see it different.
Like your discussion style btw, hope to keep on having a good debate with you.
That's him and you are right.. he will change stories depending on where he is.. the thing is does anyone make weight of anything Jose says anymore ? no body not even Chelsea supporters

Rafa's wife tried a cheeky and completely unnecessary jab, Mourinho TKO'd her out of the game.

Agree completely

El Traductor back on the Barça bench? Not very fucking likely. Whichever president who'd even dare to mention that possibility, would be crucified at the Montjuic.
