Rafael Leão

I think he has a higher ceiling than Nico.
I don't agree. IMHO it's quite the opposite. They have similar flaws however Nico would be a better player if he improves his finishing. Nico would probably suit us better and he is also 3 year younger than Leao.

Barca should sign him asap.

He's exactly what they need.

Doesn't matter if he's inconsistent in the final third. His pace and dribbling ability will create a huge amount of space for Rafa, Yamal and RL9. Those 3 will take care of the goalscoring.

Leao brings something at LW that Barca don't have. Rafa can't dribble and Yamal doesn't have pace. Leao creates a different kind of threat taking players on directly and effortlessly beating them.

Leao, Raphinha, Yamal, RL9 would be too much for opponents to handle. Such an obvious tap-in signing for Barca.

That's a very oversimplified POV. Might as well be talking about Adama.

It's like you are describing a prime Neymar . This signing would be a huge gamble. He relays mostly on his pace. Furthermore, his dribbling and finishing are far from elite. IMHO he is far from what we need. I am not saying that Nico is a perfect player, far from that. However, in tighter spaces he provides more than Leao and on counter attacks he is at least on Leao's level if not better.

Imo, Barca do need pace and dribbling ability on the left wing. The squad needs a right footed winger. Even someone like Coman would be useful. Someone that takes players on, beats them and is direct.

Imo, you guys need a profile somewhat similar to a right footed Dembele there. Fast, right footed dribbler. Doesn't need to be a bonafide goalscorer. That's how I see it.

Ferran is awful. If I had financial issues, I'd sign Coman on loan.

Just goes to show most of you guys talking about him rarely watch him play, unsurprisingly as he plays for a finished club in a finished league. In reality, both his finishing and dribbling are elite.

The big problem with Leao is his inconsistency. Which is why I agree this signing could be a gamble. As a player, he is world class.

I dont think we should pay the price Milan will ask for, which probably goes north of 100m. But if his price eventually decreases to somewhere around 80 mil, then we definitely should.

Someone might say – let Leao have some freedom when playing defense. Are you an idiot? Don’t you understand that someone like Lamine might look at him and think – why the hell should I work hard without the ball if Leao is allowed to do it less than everyone else? Am I a less valuable player on the ball than Leao?

Inconsistency and laziness can be reduced to his attitude and I think it's a pretty easy issue to solve.

That being said, he can be a very big addition for most European clubs including Barça as well. His quality as a player is hardly questionable, he proves it very often. But at the moment there are much more urgent positions we need to reinforce which is why his signing is not necessary. Even if we somehow could pull it off I would rather go for a striker and/or a proper fullback.
