Marquez makes too many mistakes and his contract is coming up for renewal, so sell him now or we are stuck with him. Milito is a good back up.

Milito as a back-up, with his age? I rather have Puyol, Marquez, Pique and Henrique as rotating central defenders, rather than Milito.
Marquez is the organiser of the defence and his footballing capacities are very important for this team. He has a excellent pass.
Pique is growing in that role, but by far isn't on the same level as Marquez in that sector of defence, and Puyol never has and never will be. Neither is Milito.
That is why we need Marquez and why, imo he won't leave.

I really think marquez is a liabillity every time he gets into a tough situation. In the last few years against chelsea, he has made a number of glaring mistakes, badly timed tackles. I Just dont think he has the speed OR THE SIZE. Im literally scared when he takesthe field against good teams.
Yes, he is the main ball-playing defender but chivu or pique could fill that role.
Personally I think some1 like chivu or vidic would be perfect for barca.

I generally tend not to criticize newbies....but are you deranged? He is and has been one of the tallest players in the squad.
To all his detractors: Tell me all the successful CB partnerships there have been in the last few years? Wait, I'll do it for you:
Puyol & Marquez (Our main CB pairing through the years)
Militio & Marquez (The famed MnM in the begining of last year)
Pique & Marquez (Pique had his best initial games alongside him and not Puyol)
Anyone sense a trend here? He has been superb for us for many seasons, has always been our main CB who can play the ball out of defense, is perhaps one of the best CBs at reading the game and is versatile enough to play as a DM when needed. It might just turn out that we'll need him this year due to the ACN. He deserves to retire at Barca or atleast stay here unless he wishes to retire in Mexico. And you can bet he'll always have something to offer us while he's here.
We should have 5 CBs next year: Pique, Puyol, Hernanes, Marquez and Militio.

As far as i know is hernanes an attacking midfielder. i think you mean Henrique.

We need a bigger squad which is what it seems Pep wants so i can't see him getting rid of any of our defenders, we don't wanna be in the same situation this time next year
