Rafael Márquez

Mexico is hosting next WC and he has a chance to be part of that, with a promise of coaching the team.
I don't know why people are trying to only look at it from Barca perspective.

Simmons is too young for the job, maybe a decade later

I meant Xavi Torres. :troll:

Because we're Barca fans?

I understand why he left and wish him all the best but for his progress as a coach I think he should have stayed in club football. There is just a big step down from club to international football level.

Don't know if he had an actual offer from them but it was reported Oviedo had interest in Rafa last month before he renewed with BA. Could take over the team that was very close to be promoted to La Liga with financial backing of their Mexican owners. That would be better for his development as a coach imo. But as said I understand why he wants to lead his country in a home World Cup.

Marc Casadó: “If I am where I am today, it is largely thanks to Rafa Márquez. He gave me confidence at all times and made me a better person and a better player, especially by making me see the importance of working hard off the field. I will be eternally grateful to him.”

i am glad he is getting the credit he deserves by a former player under him.

For me he was the best Barca B coach since Lucho tbh.

There was a very visible improvement in Casado over the course of last season.

He helped improve a number of our players during his time here.

True, he was a very good manager for the b team in that respect

Pau Prim and Unai Hernandez seem to be the two focus players in the B this year.

Let's hope Alberti Sanchez has that same ability to get these two close to first team level.
