I think he was offered a one year extension and all he wants is for it be a two year deal with an option for a third.

He's been the best defender behind Puyol since 2003, hands down. Pep loves him too... I don't think he's injured. I think he's not 100% and probably doesn't want to risk his health against the US on the 12th and so we get this. Plus, it's just a bad bruise on his leg, not a tear like everyone's been speculating.

He'll be signing that renewal as soon as he gets back to Barcelona cupcake.

He'll be at Barca till 2012.

tbh, there's not really any competition for the title of "best defender" when it comes to fc barcelona apart from puyol, and he's not as good as him so yeah. piqué in one season at the age of 21 completely showed him up in terms of defensive performance and has pretty much ousted him from the First XI now we've signed a left-back worthy of the name.

obviously he's still got skills but he gets injured far too often and he makes horrendous mistakes when his mind starts drifting to his woman in madrid or whatever.

if he signs an extension, it's only so we can sell him next summer. we'd sell him this summer but he'll be excellent DM cover when the ACoN rolls around.
