Rafael Márquez

I like marquez and I know some cules that do, but he's wearing Barca's fans patience thin. Maybe Pep too. He gets a yellow card for a stupid foul, and either goes in too early or late into some defensive situations. If only he could take care of the little things in defense and not commit mistakes, he might actually get some starts. He's not bad at passing, he creates plays and has a nice long ball, but has become a liability in defense. Pep was right to take him out because he had a yellow card and he just wasn't cutting it tonight. We all know what he's capable of because last year he started almost all the games in the champions league, except in one where he was suspended(1-1 vs Bayern) and he got injured(Chelsea).

To be fair he is more than good for our 3rd or 4th choice central defender, and that´s what he is in time like this when Barca is without Abidal and Alves and has to shuffle Puyol to the right. On top of that he has a good personality and is already a Barca legend. I couldn´t ask for more from our backup defender.

I know Marquez is very good, that's why he's still at Barca. He just needs to work on his timing with defense. He's either too early or too late. That's what separates him from pique. They're both alike, but Pique doesn't commit as much mistakes.

well said i honestly thought he was gnna turn it around he didnt have a horrible game but is starting to make a lil more nervous at times. but its happens when ur recouping form especially with the high standards that we have. he'll have his up and downs hopefully more ups as we get deeper in the season:cookies:

To be honest, even though his performance was below average and he got outrun by Stuttgart, the yellow card he got was nowhere a yellow. The guy just charged him and when Rafa kept knees comfortably together, he just dived. I think it was Molinaro, that diving cheating *** ** * *****.

I can't even describe how little confidence I have in him at this point, when defenders run at him I just assume they will get by him. He's become so clumsy and has forgotten the basics of defending.

Dear God. Hleb overpowered Rafa. As did Cacau. But Hleb....seriously.

you should just give up after that. anyone with some decency and dignity would have just ran out the stadium, telling pep this was his last game on his way out. once you're outpowered by hleb you know you've become shit and its time to quit.
