Easier said than done when we clearly try to offload deadweight. I mean there are/were all these reports that we want 35M+ for Gomes, 35 for Rafa, 30+ for Paco, 25 for Denis, 20 for Marlon etc but having high demands doesn't mean someone pays it. At the end of the day it will be either keep the player, lower the fee significantly or agree to the next loan as usual for a lot of these guys.

Who are waiting for Denis to break through, though? I haven't seen anyone talk about that, and according to the poll, there's a grand total of one user (who's name I don't even recall having seen in here before) who believes that this will be his season.

Quite a lot of people regained their confidence in Denis at the end of last season when he finally made a couple of useful contributions and people are still yapping about Denis and Samper on Barca reddit and twitter.

Sure we can lower the price quite a bit in some cases. Sell Gomes for 20m for example. Take a 50% loss. But you can't be selling for peanuts or else teams will take you for a fool.

I don't really follow the Barça reddit, and apparently I don't follow any of those Twitter folks either. The consensus in here is pretty clear, though.

He's slow as a turtle, but has good technical abilites and some intelligence. Would be OK for him to compete with Alena and get rid of the rest.

I don't think Rafa is slow. He's got decent acceleration and agility on him. It's straight line speed that he doesn't have, or lost most of it since that Nainggolan tackle.

On the flanks it's apparent but in midfield, as an 8 or a 10, it's not.


He's a beautiful footballer though. Technique, close control, vision, dribbling ability, brains, hard-working and selfless - the problem is no one can trust him to stay fit.

Nothing is more ignorant than making the same mistake over and over again.
His time at Barça is already finished.
He should leave regardless of his performance during the pre-season and give that playing time to other players who actually might have the future here.

He never had real chances like Gomes, for instance.

However i agree that of these 3 1 should be sold: Rafinha, Denis or Samper.

I would include Gomes but a loan seems the only option because of the injury.
