A good player but nothing special. Since he is English he will be overhyped as usual. People were yapping on about Ross Barkley too. Again good player but nothing special.

Agreed, Sterling is probably top 3 most talented teenagers in the world right now. The way I look at it is, he's the same as Messi going into the 06/07 season now, or Ronaldo into the 04/05 season, both as 19 year olds. Sterling's ceiling is huge if he used correctly.

And now we're back to the other extreme again

Yeah I don't agree with that he isn't at that level now as those two then.

But of the current crop of todays players at his age he is among the top five for sure.

He is a very talented player. Now it depends on him on whether he can develop further and perform such consistently. I think it's great that he has Rodgers at Liverpool who will continue to push him to do better and better and not let all this get in his head so he gets complacent.

How long before he leaves Liverpool? I give it 2 years.

As long as we are in the CL on a regular basis and are competing for trophies then I don't think he'll leave until his mid 20's at the earliest. Then if he is a level of World Class and the likes of Barca, Real, Bayern, Juve etc call then he may get the itch to go.

I know we won't be selling him to anyone in england unless we are fucked financially.

How so? Had Messi and CR7 done enough prior to the 06/07 season and 04/05 season's respectively to suggest they'd be where they are now? I'm not saying Sterling will reach their level (or anywhere close for that matter) but there's no doubt he's not your average teenager.
