Raheem Sterling

Yes but those two influence their teams at their age of over a longer period of time at that age. Sterling needs to do it next season at this same level before you can compare those scenarios. in 12/13 he was inconsistent and from Aug-Dec 2013 hardly featured. It's only from December onwards that his progression and consistency have been excellent. So if he can do it for the whole of 14/15 then let's talk.

But I've no doubts that he will continue at the same level and get even better - but he'll be nowhere near messi or ronaldo levels more like alongside Gotze, Hazard, Rodriguez etc. Among his peers today at that age group he is as good as them and possibly can be better.

Very mature & impressive performance...I was just thinking about his debut a couple of seasons ago, his game improved in all aspects...His development has to be recognized and I hope his progress continues

How so? Had Messi and CR7 done enough prior to the 06/07 season and 04/05 season's respectively to suggest they'd be where they are now? I'm not saying Sterling will reach their level (or anywhere close for that matter) but there's no doubt he's not your average teenager.

He's not your average teenager and probably is in the top 3 most talented youngsters, might actually be the farthest progressed of those since Deulofeu has yet to shine and sterling has eclipsed adnan. But unfourtunately for all of them. This video says they'll never reach Messi's heights. (19 year old messi).

Looking back at the footage, I think we're overrating his performance.

He did some nice things but there are plenty of mistakes in there too.

Sure. But first of all, he's still young and needs more experience - but also, he takes many risks that often pay of. If you always play it safe you might never get anywhere. I mean, Iniesta was not perfect either at that age.

Sterling will never be half the player Iniesta is.

Sterling was better all round than 18/19 year old Ronaldo, judging by last season's performances. It was in 2006, aged 21, that Ronaldo really started to make the most of his raw talent.

And God I hate that fucking song.

The way he gets past a man is something magical.

Always been a bit two minded about Raheem, but I always tell myself he's very very young.

Hope he continues to grow, it's only good for our league and our country.

Ronaldo's game at 18/19 was eye catching but not exactly effective. Just seemed like a young Quaresma. Look at Sterling's technique against Man City.
