Improvement can be done. All they need to do is tell all refs to whistle at every contact that happens. They CAN do it every time if they want to, it's just that things are left for the referee's own reading of the game. Sometimes, if he gave a team a penalty and then after that in ten minutes a contact like Di Maria's one yesterday was made, he wouldn't give them another penalty, things can simply be made to follow one standard instead of referee thinking and concluding on his own. I'm not talking about referee mistakes here, I'm talking about respecting the rules of football to the fullest. Fairness achieved in the bigger picture as you are saying is doubtful and is not true fairness.
I mean let's take yesterday's penalty for Di Maria, the referee might have thought "Madrid deserved this", but what does deserved really mean here ? Do all deserved teams have to win or have advantage anyway ? Why isn't there a strict rule that doesn't allow any loopholes of subjectivity in this case?

Because with any rule there will be a loophole anyway. Was there contact in the box? yes, did it cause the player to fall? yes, that equals a penalty. Simple as.

If so great then , don't leave it to the ref to calculate if the team "deserves" it or not; just call it all the time. There won't be any loopholes anymore unless ofcourse the referee "forgets" the rule during the match but at least we won't be discussing whether it should be a penalty or not and agree it is and hold the ref responsible instead of giving him the authority to decide what is right or not. Because in games nowadays, we say " it's the ref's interpretation", but if what you said is done, he won't have that privilege anymore.

It is not every time that a referee will be able to get a crystal clear view of the incident in slow motion.

Well that is not what I'm arguing about. As I said bad offside calls or cases like inability to see everything are not included in what I'm saying. But cases where the referee clearly sees everything and thinks " It's not worth it" won't happen anymore.

I guess folks trying to fabricate excuse in advance in case they loose the classico game.

I'm sorry but why is this guy still around? He never contributes anything meaningful to discussions, all he does is stir shit up right up to the Clasico and disappear for a good few months once Madrid loses.

So this guy always appears before every Clasico then vanishes? Well then, lets destroy Madrid again.

Sorry to interrupt, but what is the actual point of this conversation ?

just me questioning some refereeing rules. and for RM2 .. I am not a Barcelona fan but just discussing some matters that grab my attention every time I watch a football match.

Referees are humans and will make mistakes. How otherwise could you explain the decision of allowing the first penalty which was taken on two-tempos and retaking the second one where same mistake occurred ? Some people need to relax, unless the time comes when FIFA and UEFA introduce ref replays etc. etc.

So you didn't even understand what our conversation was even about. I particularly made it clear I am not talking about referee mistakes lol. But anyway you want us to shut up in Real Madrid thread and you have the right, so I will :)

Ur partially right, I only want you to shut up, because anytime I see a typical referee argument (didn't even need to read through the whole discussion) I know it's going nowhere.
