Red cards/suspensions are meant to be a punishment. It's not meant to help you. Basically Real Madrid are getting rewarded for killing time in a match. It shouldn't work like that.

Thanks to AS for reminding me of this
last season Pep Guardiola was caught by Camera and on Microphone telling Alves to hold on to get a second yellow vs Mallorca on the 27th of March to be clear for the classico .. and he did just that.. got the yellow served the suspension by missing Bilbao game and was cleared for the classico .

come on show me for once you lot have 1/100 of integrity and balls.. do u need more evidence than Pep own words listened to on the microphone ?
should we go to Alves or Mallorca thread and see how much you lot didn't even mention it once

 i guess this is what they call "OWNED "

U clearly believe your opinion is the only one that counts

read above Rick :)

yes vs the lot of new cule's .. my opinion counts at least i know what i'm talking about

I think it was SuperPippo the one that told you what's the difference in all of this. Many clubs have done it in the past but not so blatantly as this one(if not just cules are saying this, that should tell u something). It was so blatant that UEFA is taking actions on this.(of course a biased madrid fan wont see it)

As i said and u clearly ignored to read

Pep was caught on mic asking (SOUND CHECK ) Alves to take a yellow to miss the next game and be cleared for the classico
where the sportsmanship and all the empty words crusade u've been preaching now ?

so go and fight the windmills of your mind elsewhere at least you will show some integrity on board ;) hasta la vista

I've got to say its quite bemusing to see the barca fans here - well most of them - trying to put a spin on everything to suit their own argument. TBH it says to me that they believe Madrid are a bigger threat to them than they'd like to think.

I also laugh at people thinking this will go anywhere. There is no proof mourinho actually said to dudek or the coach to tell Ramos and Alonso to get sent off - you'd get laughed out of court really. Insinuation is one thing - but its not proof.

well this is one of the reasons i love this forum. There are madridistas in here that are respected and that have debates with cules and there are no insults, most of the times...
I guess that's why the new cules express their opinions the way they want it, and show their "dislike" to madrid. Cos' that's normal in other forums. Here is different, you wont find many of the old cules members having this kind of debates with you or any other madridista, cos' it may be bad for the forum(too much trolling and insulting)
That's why I think you should not qualifiy old members as more knowledgeable than new members. It's just that they know they have to be more politically correct and dont go too far in their accusations against madrid. Same thing would happen in a Madrid forum with cules

Do you have a link of a video that shows Guardiola telling Alves to get a yellow card intentionally? I am perfectly aware that Alves took a yellow card against Mallorca to avoid getting suspended for el Clasico, but do you have video evidence of Guardiola instructing him to do so? As far as I know they never caught him do that. Because unless he gets caught doing it, it's a non-issue since they have no way of proving for sure that Alves got the yellow card intentionally. Ultimately it's Mourinho's fault for making it so obvious, he probably thought it would make him look cool and didn't even try to hide it.

It's weird, isn't it? They have videos and sound clips of everything. Except for that, it's only a picture.

"The idea was to provoke the card," the Brazilian told reporters after he was cautioned for wasting time in the 92nd minute of Barca's 1-0 win at Real Mallorca.

"We have to be intelligent and in this way I'll miss the next match and be free for the Madrid game," he added.

That doesn't really make sense though. If Guardiola wanted Alves to be free for el Clasico, he would have just benched him against Bilbao. The only way that Alves was going to miss el Clasico was IF HE PLAYED AGAINST BILBAO AND GOT BOOKED...if Guardiola REALLY wanted Alves for el Clasico, all he had to do was bench him. Simple. Why would the booking make a difference? Obviously Alves picked up the yellow card on purpose, because he thought Guardiola was going to play him against Bilbao and wanted to avoid that, which means Guardiola didn't instruct him to get booked. Now if Alves really gave that interview that por supuesto posted, then he could have easily been suspended, I believe Beckham was suspended once for admitting he picked up a booking on purpose.
