"The idea was to provoke the card," the Brazilian told reporters after he was cautioned for wasting time in the 92nd minute of Barca's 1-0 win at Real Mallorca.

"We have to be intelligent and in this way I'll miss the next match and be free for the Madrid game," he added.

Bingo ... we have a winner..

refreshing to see the good old side of Barca fans instead of the new zero previous history cules
thanks Joel :beer2:

That doesn't really make sense though. If Guardiola wanted Alves to be free for el Clasico, he would have just benched him against Bilbao. The only way that Alves was going to miss el Clasico was IF HE PLAYED AGAINST BILBAO AND GOT BOOKED...if Guardiola REALLY wanted Alves for el Clasico, all he had to do was bench him. Simple. Why would the booking make a difference? Obviously Alves picked up the yellow card on purpose, because he thought Guardiola was going to play him against Bilbao and wanted to avoid that, which means Guardiola didn't instruct him to get booked. Now if Alves really gave that interview that por supuesto posted, then he could have easily been suspended, I believe Beckham was suspended once for admitting he picked up a booking on purpose.

As i said it's very common practice and happen every damn week , only u lot (most of u ) are shitting in your pants and panicking
it's normal to see in all big teams and like Alves said it's intelligence , so you want to ban.. head to Alves and Pep thread and ask for extended ban for both of them you have sound and Alves own admission
meanwhile relax we will beat you on the pitch not off it .. unless your players and managers are in the same state as some of you here than we won without kicking a ball

You're a bit behind...no one is denying that they got booked on purpose. We're arguing whether or not they should be punished for it.

Not behind, just choosing to start from scratch. Being up 4-0, why would Ramos need to waste time if they are a man down? And even then not so much time....

No one is shitting in their pants or panicking. Try not to be aggressive to make your argument look stronger, you're making yourself look less intelligent than you actually are.

Don't think you understood my post. If Guardiola wanted Alves for the Clasico, all he had to do was bench him against Bilbao. No need for the booking against Mallorca. Alves obviously got the booking on his own because he wanted to avoid the Bilbao game. So Guardiola wasn't involved.

Also, if Alves actually gave that interview, then that's not very intelligent of him, is it? Players have been suspended for longer periods before for admitting intentional booking. If he actually said that then he could have easily been suspended for el Clasico.

Basically, what I'm saying is: stuff like this is nothing new, you're right about that. But you're not supposed to admit to getting booked on purpose, and you're not supposed to make it that obvious. If they don't have evidence against you, they can't do anything. But players have admitted to getting booked on purpose before, and they have been punished and suspended for extended periods for that. That's nothing new either. Alves just got lucky. If UEFA believes they have enough evidence against Mourinho, Ramos, and Alonso, they will suspend them further.

Guardiola was involved .. he was heard over the mic that's why Alves said what he said ..
my argument is backed up by your players and coach action , there is no stronger evidence than self admission but the amount of shit posted from some of you is indeed makes me think you are shitting in your pants

The thing is no one give a damn about that.. Ajax do give a damn cause they need us to beat Auxerre that's why they filed a complain , i don't think anyone of us went to alves thread and ask for extended ban after Mallorca game.. we don't need an excuse to beat or lose to a team .. u do
but you got worked out for something that doesn't even involve you and happened twice in recent memory under orders from Pep (Rafa & Alves ) makes you look.. well stupid (couldn't find a better word )

Flight 5.25pm tomorrow, can't wait!

have fun Eddie.. bring us 3 point or one point from Camp nou
should be a great game from both teams.. i can't wait as well

I'm not saying UEFA should or should not suspended Alonso and Ramos, all I'm saying is that it's happened before and it's not something new. They probably don't have substantial enough evidence to suspend them, since none of them explicitly said that they did it on purpose...but it's been done before. And try to answer my post Beast, instead of saying the same things over and over...saying "we don't need an excuse to beat or lose to a team, we're better fans" doesn't answer anything either.

Still missing the point Beast. Everybody does it, but not so blatantly and disrespectfully

you wanna talk about people being biased, what are you going to say about Mourinho critizicing Preciado for distorting the competition when Madrid is clearly doing the same here?

What more disrespectful than your coach fighting with another coach in the CL ? or asking your player to take it a yellow both caught on Camera and microphone ?
Jose said nothing wrong when he said Gijon laid low.. in fact Precideo deserve extended punishment for his actions and words

Answer what man? u didn't ask a question?
you say and it happened before (agree ) , not something new (agree ) not enough evidence (agree ) ... so where is the question ?
At most it could be a small fine and nothing more but even that i doubt due to lack of evidence .. interpretations of actions and whispers are not evidence it's a personal opinion

Don't get any Eddie.. i'll send u a 50 Quid to get a hooker :p
