'Sport' says it's confirmed Higuain will have to undergo surgery... so does that mean Madrid are forced to sign a striker in Jan? Or is just Catalan media's attempt to stir some shit?

he will install the right mentality from the beginning, learn him that football comes in patches etc..
last time i checked di maria isen't old, nor is özil nor is khedira..

Gago will work his way back into the side. he always does.

he sucks for the first half of the year then through some twist of fate gets a chance and then puts himself back in the lineup. I dunno HOW he does it, maybe he impresses the manager with his hard work and sensible/spineless passing? in any case, the only thing that will stop Gago getting back into Madrid's team this time around is Khedira is basically the same player, except new and not at all Calderon-y.

Developing a young player towards reaching his potential is ussually a longer term project and we all know mourinho's main goal is to win as many trophies possible, leave an impact at a club and leave asap towards the next challenge. So the long term picture is less important to him and always takes the backseat to winning silverware. Jose doesnt like sticking around for too long at any club so he ussually goes for what works NOW and no what can be good in a couple of years becuz that doesnt benefit him directly.

Not saying he cant make young players better or he wont go for lukaku for that reason it was just a reaction to a post that made it look like mou is some kinda genius in youth development

I have my issues with Ozil but the one player who I have not said anything against because I don't want to put my neck too far out although I did mention it once before but I have serious doubts over Khedira the most. A rapist in the video but hardly anything frightening on the field. He needs to let loose and just unleash the beast he is meant to be. Perhaps it is a language issue but I know there is way more in him than what he is showing.

Depends on the player, some need a lot of nurturing and guidance for a long time and those are usually the attacking midfielders and sometimes strikers. Those may not come very long with Mourinho but defensive players come through a lot with Mourinho, because he is cautious (1) and because the natural talent is there (2) and he gives them detailed instructions (3). Those players come quite far with Mourinho.

Not every coach can develop all types of players. SAF struggles with defenders, goal keepers and for the love of god can't find a proper striker to lead his line. However midfielders are his bitch, he knows how to make them machines.

Yes it's true , Higuain will have to undergo surgery and he is out for 2 month at least BIG BLOW
i can also confirm that Valdano & Perez were talking last night with Fernando Llorente in Madrid in an event
whether for Jan transfer window or June is not my thing but the club will be 100% looking for a striker this month and the choice of both Valdano & Perez is Llorente , whether they can sign him or not from Bilbao remains to be seen
