And you have to take into consideration an other point. In Germany there is a lot of discussion at the moment about player power (Demba Ba, Farfan..). That would just be an other case of helpless clubs who are f*** by a player.

Imagine Hamburg will lose that game and in the aftermath they will tell their fans that one of their last striker option is leaving just because Madrid wish so, can you imagine the outrage among the Hamburg Fans who are already on the brick of revolt against the board? I just can not imagine that Hoffmann would be that stupid he would just digging his grave even deeper.

Player power is sadly a matter of fact , no one can do anything not even Barca or Real .. add to that when worse come to worse Ruud can buy his remaining contract which is nothing as well
counting on Ruud alone is wrong though , he is part of the answer for Hamburg but not the answer

No Alex ,he will be a starter . Benz is doomed , he will be a bench /part time starter no one can defend him any more

Why don't you pay the Hamburgers a good sum of money then? Even if it is above what his contract is worth?

Yeah shows how good Adebarndoor is

the problem is the money we don't want to pay anything for Ruud as we gave him his letter of freedom for nothing as a gratitude and helped Hamburg finalize the deal.. they have big shortage on strikers atm and they want something /anything
however the club want him , jose delighted to have him and he wants to move (he is free in the summer ) so i don't think it will be a big obstacle
