So they say...
as they said several times i feel Valdano will step down end of the season on his own for the good of the team , that's Valdano for me
One slight problem
Gonzalo Higuain
IMO it would be a big mistake if Valdano steps down in order to make way for Mourinho. In 1 or 2 year from this summer on, Mourinho is almost certainly gone and the club would be left with only Pérez...no good!!!
Running a club as big and as ambitious as Real Madrid, Pérez & Valdano can't afford to just blindly trust in Higuaín coming good and be back the way he was. They need some sort of plan B in case shit happens. Or else, come next winter, they'll find themselfs in a very similar striker problem situation to the one they face at the moment. Making the same mistake twice or at least a similar mistake, isn't healthy at all.
Personally i hope Higuaín comes good...he's always been a fighter and i expect him to fight this through until "the happy end".
Also bare in mind, that certain circumstances are not yet totally clear. Mourinho might still walk away instead of Valdano this summer. Then there is the system that has 1 striker only. Will that current system be used further or will there be another change? Kaka' staying or leaving is also left to be seen. A change back to 2 strikers may very well be the result of a possible change in system...thus aiming to start both Agüero & Llorente, while bringing back Higuaín little by little as a sub, until he's fully fit and ready to fight for 1 of the 2 starting places.
