Damn Hamburg for not letting Ruud move! Now Adebayoor is back in sight...i'd hate to watch games with him being in the starting XI or playing at all! Might as well stick with Morata, at least he speaks spanish. Ade is doomed to be a flop IMO.
Nothing new...Agüero is one of the usual suspects. That "news" has been here for quite some time. Last summer was the last time he was linked strongly to Real Madrid. If i remember right, his father - as his manager - was spotted at the Bernabeu. In the end, the release clause of something in the region of 50-60m € was too much and Benzema for around 35m € made it. With the release clause being down to 35m € now that he renewed and with Benzema being a 45m € flop at the end of 2 seasons, Agüero is getting more and more attracktive for the club.
Same for Llorente, both have been top targets last summer already. Like i said, Pérez & Valdano are thinking long-term, with the desired players not being available now, but in summer.
Which brings me to the POSSIBLE logic behind that. MAYBE the plan is to
- get rid of Benzema and replace him with Agüero...thus sell a non-no.9 striker and replace him with another non-no.9, but a much better one.
- get Llorente as the only true no.9 striker for the next 4 seasons. He'll be 26 when he joins this summer, so he can give a good 3-4 seasons to Madrid, while that gives Morata the time to further develope "in peace", before he "takes over" from Llorente. 1 or 2 seasons more with Castilla - while being Llorentes backup - plus 2 seasons on loan at Getafe (for instance) and at age 22 (aproximately) he'll be more than ready to replace Llorente.
- not rushing Higuaín back, thus replacing Benzema with Agüero, which enables the club to watch his recovery closely and his little by little coming back; get a view on wether or not he will recover his old form or wether this injury "broke" him. In case he's not the same anymore, well, there is Agüero & Llorente assuring life at Madrid goes on without Higuaín and no adjustments have to be made in winter due to an out of form Higuaín and a crying coach.
- ensuring a high quality attack for the next 5-8 or more seasons by having great young strikers such as Higuaín (23) & Agüero (23), plus Llorente (26), who already has his replacement in Morata (18 now and around 22 once Llorente turns 30).
Of course that's highly debatable, since i'm only guessing!!!
Cadena SER reported on their radio last night that we will pay Kun Aguero release clause for next june, sell Benzema and buy Llorente
i see no logic in buying Aguero at all
