tbh I don't think Batista was fair to Cucho. I mean Banega was shit in his preferred role, but Cucho had to play way too advanced for him. being part of a double pivot with Gago ccould work very well, especially as Gago is a magnificent #5.

Gago and Inter are now just plain rumors. Nothing concrete. There were rumors some weeks ago about Real offer of cash+Gago for Maicon but the amount of cash was never mentioned so it wasn't something to be taken seriously to me. Inter is now mostly linked with Casimiro and Banega. Gago comes after them. I personally rather get Gago now than Banega. I could say the opposite before the Copa but I guess Gago is a better bet now than Banega. And reports say they both have a 10m price tag, so with these conditions I will go for Gago.

Cambiasso has played advanced roles for Inter, but they usually did not require a lot of ball possession because Cambiasso doesn't control the game that far. He was used because he was on hot form of scoring, and he has a knack for scoring odd goals in odd moments.

Batista wanted him to be Barcelona's Iniesta which he isn't.

Gago was directly related to Madrid winning the first league title under Capello, he was magnificent, as a supporting midfielder. However, when played with defensive responsibilities, he tries way too hard, often coming out of his skin only to miss a challenge or commit too early. Real is perhaps one of the fastest teams in Europe, so Gago is way out of his depth in Madrid.

He is not a dead talent, he is not world class either (he showed glimpses of it then faded away) but if you are putting him in a diamond midfield or a christmas tree, he'd do very well.

So Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Emirates for new sponsors. Although I do not understand what this is for, shirt sponsor or around the stadium?

I don't understand how could the Emirates afford to sponsor Arsenal and Real Madrid.
