Antonio Adan will be playing in Copa this year. Won't have much chance to be Iker's successor though (unless Iker's ability and reflexes suffer a severe decline) since he will be just under 30 when Iker will be stepping down (if his abilities do suffer, if not he will keep playing till he becomes Van Der Sar).

Casillas is already on the decline, it's only a matter of time before he's nothing. He's not well rounded enough to age gracefully.

Adan will probably end up being a slightly above average keeper for another club, like Canizares or more realistically Diego Lopez.

He's not wrong though. This Iker isn't the Iker from 3-4 years ago when he was the fundamental and undoubtedly the best keeper in the world. He makes more silly mistakes than he did and hardly has performances like against Sevilla at Pizjuan in 2009/2010 when he alone saved RM from total embarrassment (partially because he doesn't need to anymore, defence is much more capable and doesn't let 6 past in the Clasico). And I too think he isn't going to age perfectly. I mean Van Der Sar wasn't top3, probably just around that level, but with Iker.. I doubt this will happen.

Iker problem is that his defense has improved , he is less and less under pressure so he started to lose concentration , some people are like that even in work
I don't see him being a VDS simply because Iker strength is his reflex action but he is yet to be written off , he will get better in time but he always starts the season in a bad shape and he gets better as the season progress

I wouldn't count him out just yet. He still has some 5 years left in him, so this can be just a normal drop in from for a player of his statue.

VDS was the safe without needing to be spectacular.. Casillas is that bit less safe (more so because VDS was the definition of mr reliable) but king spectacular.. because he has always needed to be with that shit defence. If he lost the ability to pull out those obscene performances and do his 'you call that a defence face?' then i'm not sure he can age the same way as VDS.
