I don't see him being a VDS simply because Iker strength is his reflex action but he is yet to be written off , he will get better in time but he always starts the season in a bad shape and he gets better as the season progress

That's not the point. He starts off slow, true, but he keeps making mistakes no matter the date or match. Remember Deportivo in mid-season last spring/winter, when he got a red card for a stupid foul during a one-on-one?

As for writing him off, nobody does that, it would be idiotic to write off a multi-time Best Goalkeeper in the World when he just reached his 30s. He will remain in top3 for at least 3 more seasons, but he will also keep making those silly mistakes from lack of concentration and we are yet to see how his reflexes will suffer with age.

BTW
Marca says that Real vs Saragossa match may not be shown on TV, because of lack of payments from the broadcasting company.

Well he earned his right to screw up if he wants too every now & than .. the man won it all and saved RM when there was no one around to put on a decent performance for several years

it's time he has a good defense who take part of the responsibility ,I'm never worried about this position even when Iker retire or be too old to be good having a great keeper was always a Castilla thing

Iker problem is that his defense has improved , he is less and less under pressure so he started to lose concentration , some people are like that even in work

this is exactly the problem.

interestingly, though, he never suffered this with Spain.

I think it's partly a mental issue. whatever he says in the press, I think he really doesn't like Mourinho's antics. he's a very proud old-school Madridista after all.

yeah it'd be weird to see him continue into his late 30's.

but then if he stays fit, why not? Brad Friedel's strength is his reflexes and he's still playing well at 40.

No wonder Dortmund let him go for so cheap, Madrid got ripped off big time

No smart ass , his contract ends next summer that's why

No problem for Sahin .. he is young he will regain his form it's not like the case of Kaka who was in the twilight of his career so every year/month counts
