And Benzema wasn't? And not only by scoring, but by everything. Drawing attention, creating space, being a crucial part to successful counterattacks. There are many things both of these players are better at than one another, but putting Higuain in Benzema's place and making him do the same thing would make it far less efficient.

I agree with Raed's assessment of the current captaincy of RM. Iker is a total weenie of a leader and is too mild mannered to call shots in this day and age.
As for the Higuain vs Benz thing, I am wayyyyyy more on edge when Higuain is near goal than when Benz is.

Higuain is just an awesome awesome player. I love watching RM just for that guy. Some have already said it but I'll repeat: I would NOT mind him coming to Barca. He is a level 10 footballer that guy.
Pipa is the better goal-scorer. Since your club don't value him all that much (seeing how much he's earning) and your machine works better with your current heartthrob Benzema than with Gonzo. Do us all fans of La Albiceleste a favour, will you? please sell him to a club where he can start regularly. A striker of his caliber isn't meant to be a back-up whatever club. It's criminal. And it's heart breaking to 've to see our #9 being reduced to one.

Benzema deserves to start ahead of Higuain. I'd say Higuain is the better goalscorer, but Benzema is a more complete forward, he has really impressed lately. Not to mention that he accepts playing second fiddle to Cristiano, unlike Pipita.
Hard to argue with Mourinho's decision here. Benzema and Di Maria have probably been Real Madrid's best players this season, both have established themselves among the very best in the world at their position in the past year.

I'd say Manuel that Higuain has been deadly in front of goal for a while now. It was that lower back injury that kept him out not his form. As for well rounded, Higuain is a striker he doesn't have to be well rounded. Just get him the ball and he buries that shit better than Benz does imho. Benz is great for blasting down the wings and carrying defenders with him, but he needs to be held by the hand like a kid. Higuain has lasted at RM with less support than most stars there do. Rarely saw him affected by it.... with Benz when he was off form though? He couldn't even look up or at anyone during a game and his shots were ATROCIOUS during that spell.

Yeah, Benzema didn't start his Madrid career well, but he has really improved a lot and is now one of their best players.
I agree that Higuain is a fantastic player as well, but in the system Madrid use there can only be one striker and Benzema is a better fit for many reasons, one of them being that he's willing to play second fiddle to Ronaldo. But Higuain is a brilliant option as well, Madrid have quite an incredible strike force.
