First off, the LB spot needs to be strengthend. I dont know why you dont just try Arbeloa there. This type of game would have been a way to see if he would be able to play there and to also get him familiar to the role. Drenthe was really bad. REALLY BAD. I can't see why you did sell him when you has the chance. He adds nothing to the team that Marcelo doesn't and Marcelo is better going forward. Most of their attacks came from their right hand side. Maybe they targeted Roy out at the start..

I do think this 4-2-2-2 business is not working. 4-2-3-1 should be the formation IMO with Benzima upfront, Kaka just behind him with Higuain and Ronaldo/Granero on the wings.
Alonso needs to up his game. I know he didn't play tonight but he has been putting in some trash performances. He just needs a bit of movement upfront to help him do his stuff. Raul and Benzima are too static. Kaka would strech the defence from the middle, giving Benzima a bit of room to work with. He needs to lose weight or something, i didn't know Dr Evil was into pie..
