I know Nandor, but I felt that was a bad substitution. Alonso was basically the only defensive minded midfielder. While Granero and VDV had a good game, your midfield in general was bad. You got overrun so many times in the second half and Almeria looked like nicking it if they didn't fuck up, cause they were the boss of midfield.
You wer elucky the Almeria defender failed miserably + you were gifted a penalty. I didn't had the feeling you were going to win the game just based on your own performance cause you lost the midfield battle.
well, to be fair and honest, if madrids finishing wasn't utter shit (like it is for quite some time now), this game would have been finished by half time. almeria was overrun in the first half and during that time, did you have the feeling almeria would be able to go score 2 goals and dominate madrid a big part of the second half???
i agree, that the midfield (apart from the finishing) is a concern...but i question wether this is due to the players (it certainly is in gago's case and often in guti's case as well) or wether it's down to pellegrini not being able to install a constant and working system. the permanent switching between 4-2-2-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2 flatt, mutant or diamond shaped can't be helping nor healthy. and i doubt, that (refering to yesterdays MARCA) partnering xabi alonso with cesc fábregas is the solution as long as their is a clear system missing
