Yes, the transfer might have been media driven but all of Real Madrid is media driven. This might have been a little more than others, however no transfer to Barcelona or Real Madrid isn't media driven.

However besides the 10 million, you have to look at other factos here Gnegneri, he is Spanish, young, a left winger, talented and Racing are selling to a local team. We are in need for all those factors and when you cannot find them in your youth, you look elsewhere. Racing is well aware of the situation, he is a loyal kid who resigned to give his club some compensation and then there is Deportivo.

I feel that Real lacks a proper striker. Someone like Ruud in his previous years. Other than that they look fine apart from the usual weaknesses on their flanks. Xabi is a bit overrated as well imo. and I don't see him much better than Lass in his ball distribution.
