Rather than lull the team in to a false sense of security (a la 2006 going in to 2007) this move, like Sunny wrote, will do nothing but motivate FCB to be even better next season. Next season will probably be the best season in La Liga history.

Same was said about this season after Real reinforced the squad and you failed in 2 out of 3 fronts ..
It's not just about Motivation but previous encounters with Jose , i'm willing to bet the head to head for the Classico will be in favor of Real ..

do you think Jorge could work with someone he don't like his football ? the answer is no .. Jorge is /could be stepping down very soon , the reason i challenged Gilbert about the length of Jose time in Real is that the club is about to give him total control of the club in short what the English call football manager ala Wenger/SAF which make the position of Pardeza & Valdano useless .
i'm all for the idea it's not bad but i'm against the person who will do it , Jose is 3-4 year manager and not for the long run plus with the club structure (elections, members powers ) in reality it's hard to do it .
i don't want to sacrifice Jorge who proved to be a strong club manager for Jose , plus i don't know if Jose can keep Perez in check the way Jorge did this season .
the reason Mourinho deal was delayed till now is Jorge and Perez is trying to find a working relation between both of them , even Valdano said the chanyesterday Jose is one of the best manager but not the best manager in the world .
ge could be dangerous i'd like to have someone as a buffer to keep managers from doing stupid things.. it's not like Jose didn't waste money on Quaresma
