don't focus on numbers because they don't matter. mourinho is exactly what a team like real ideally would need, a manager who will do anything to make them win + great defensive thinker.
Real destroy one type of opponent like Valencia, Villareal but they struggle against certain playing styles like Lyon. Mourinho will make them more versatile.

he'd have been manager of barca but the CL has consistently drawn him against us. and he was always managing inferior sides, so the only way to beat us was to make it into a war, which meant he would be a villain to us.

but he's a winner, so he'll just get on with it.

I'm sure it'll be one of his few regrets at the end of his managerial career though.

Mourinho is Florentino's last bullet, we could say. His last means to try and beat Barcelona because he couldn't do it after just completing what is the most expensive transfer season in the history of football.

It seems to me that Florentino is what will end up burying Madrid once again. All these signings, all this ambition, and heat of the moment decisions is what will take the club down.

Mourinho may well unite the team and get them playing together, but Capello won them La Liga back in 2007 and that wasn't good enough because of the lack of entertaining football.

I don't see it lasting. And I think The Special One is a great manager. One of the best. He just knows how to coach. But within Real Madrid. From the front office to the fans, to the team there's too much of a lack of unity I feel. Too many egos. And the biggest one of them all is Florentino.

One of Capello problems is that he had presidents who were shaky with the fans opinion , Mourinho didn't push pass the 55% on all polls even after he won the CL
I think he may try to gain popularity but IMO Perez will fully support him for as you said it's his best and last bullet .
Mourinho will bring plenty of character, leadership & unity to the team , something they missed last season .. how that translate on the pitch remains to be seen

i agree with you but i would trade Benzema with Dzeko , the Bosnian offer something different while Benzema is similar to Higuain

I wasn't talking about the whole season or making any grand statement.

you said that when we came up against a tactical side like kazan we failed.

I merely pointed out the fact that we only failed at home because marquez fucked up twice. out of nowhere. that's where their goals came from and that's how they beat us. had marquez not fucked up twice, we'd have likely (can never know, of course) won the game.

I wasn't talking about the match in kazan, where they played a great game to hold us 0-0.

I wasn't talking about piqué or puyol.

I wasn't even talking about rafa's season.

I was talking about one game and why it is a poor example for you to use in your argument.

piqué and puyol making mistakes has nothing to do with rafa handing kazan their two goals with massive defensive errors.

kazan deserve HUGE credit for the way they played in both legs, they defended superbly and counterattacked with ferocious speed. they deserve credit for holding us to 1 goal in the camp nou, they deserve even more credit for holding us to NONE in kazan (no one else has stopped us from scoring this season I don't think).

I've never denied kazan credit for their achievements (really they deserved to qualify from the group) I just said they only won at camp nou because rafa fucked up twice. which is absolutely true.

if you wanna talk about tactical teams stopping us, talk about inter in sansa (both times), talk about almeria away, talk about athletic away, hell talk about kazan IN kazan.

use examples that actually illustrate your point. not games where hysterically unprompted defensive errors bit us in the nutsack.
