Come on Beast, say something so I can go back to Ibra thread :p

Ok i will

First .. all of those pundits we have on the forum should take notice of somethings like
The Spanish Int players joined the team like 12 days ago including the fact that some of them went back for the useless game vs Mexico
so easy on Ramos-Albiol-Xabi ..etc
I don't know if people were watching a different game but i was really happy by Sami debut he ran and tried to help but he was like a fish out of the sea , with a language barrier and first competitive game with new team mates .. and i wanted to kill Xabi Alonso who was atrocious and looked really bad as most of the players how took the trip to Mexico
but as i said those players played a lot less than their counterparts.. if you look @ the good players tonight it's those who joined the pre-season earlier like Marcelo,Higuain..etc
and it's quite funny that people want to judge Carvalho who joined Real 48 hours ago ? really the guy had one day with the team and bang he is playing vs a Team who are not only a CL finalist but started their pre-season a lot early and already kicked their competitive season by winning the supercup a week ago and will start their first league game next Thursday.. so if anything i believe the team showed lot of solidarity despite the clear weakness due to the above reasons (Carvalho new, Ramos & Xabi Mexico trip , Khedira first game..etc )

so turning to those who played before and been there from day one.. Canales was a big disappointment , he looked out of depth completely , Marcelo was great but what we lacked in the first half was definitely the central playmaker ..
Pedro Leon was great and for Jose it will be more what they will do under pressure and vs ready to kill Bayern there is no better preparation

there is plenty of work to do and stuff to Iron but i will look @ the players who was under Jose for 3 weeks and i'm happy with Marcelo game , Higuain could have scored twice and Pedro Leon if he keeps it up like this he is a candidate for the breakthrough of the season
Iker was MOM .. PK, Rebound for the PK , two awesome one on one.. and that's just the first half .. it's good to have the new captain as MOM it gives a lot of confidence but don't read so much from the players form .. it's just an idea of the tactics deployed which is 4-2-3-1 with players pressuring from the front

Your post makes sense as usual, but the tactics thing... I will probably have to learn to observe tactics better, since this looked nothing like 4-2-3-1 to me. If anything similar, it was 4-5-1 in my eyes, with most if not all of those 5 playing way to close to defense. Connecting middle with attack looked too difficult for your team. The defensive pressure they put in the middle during first half looked really good, but they didn't do much when they had the ball. Just an opinion...

Why is this thing duplicating my posts all day :S

Canales dropping deep and not carrying the ball upfront made it look like 4-5-1 so yes you are right and when they had the ball they only had the marked wingers to pass the ball too ..
I believe Canales will sit for VDV for the next game IMO

I still don't understand why Real wasted money on Di Maria when you had already bought an impressive player in Pedro Leon.

Surely, this is where Gio will answer: for reasons of depth. :)

Pedro-------AM----------CR
-----------Higs---------------

If you have an attacking midfielder that is fluid and can keep the ball moving quickly to the other three attacking players then you will look great; basically if you have a good attacking midfielder then you will be great. :)

Also, Canales will be wasted playing too central, he should be close to the forward line.

You answered yourself there ;) you don't play an entire season with one player for a position , look @ us now
we didn't kick start an official game and we already lost Kaka,Pepe (3-4 weeks ) and now Garay
you are right about the AM and Canales need to take the ball and move it

Why is Canales played as AM anyways? While he wasn't doing anything useful, his through ball to Higuain is an indication of good things to come. Who said he is similar to Guti? That excites me!

me.

mainly because he's a left-footed playmaker, and with his new haircut and a madrid kit on he looks freakishly like a young josé maría gutiérrez.

If his talent with passing is even close to Guti, I'd be very happy. He may not need to be as gifted with his vision but if he was a more consistent.

The ability of Guti to be facing one way, and deliver an inch perfect slicing through ball the other way in the space that an oncoming player has just set their eyes onto was magnificent, in fact astonishing. What was even more astonishing was his ability to always let the team down in his last 4-5 years. You just could not depend on him. The higher he raised your hopes, the worse his next performance was.

Where is Galactico? I am sure he'd love to comment on Canales looking like Guti.

A little flash back: Some of the best football Madrid played in the last while was when Robinho and Guti were on the pitch. That was phenomenal.

In Lucho we trust!
Madrid play 4-5-1 with Jose. Those in denial will come up with a more attacking variation of the system. But he will play predominately 4-5-1.

But for the record I thought Madrid looked pretty good for a pre-season game.

Guti could carry the ball from our half to the other end.. Canales didn't even touch the ball once in the first half.
could be a matter of the other players mistrusting him as a kid + he was lost in the game

On other news Garay suffered a dislocated knee cap , there is no telling yet how long he will be out but in principle we are screwed with only 2 CB available
Ramos will probably kiss the RB goodbye for sometime

Valdano confirmed that we made a firm bid for Ozil , Werder wants a little more money
but i think it could be concluded soon

a very tired game that was...the first half was entertaining cause of san ikers astonishing form and safes. the second half was not worth meantioning. lass being RB while wearing the no.10 was horrible to watch.

lots of players were completely out of the game, such as ramos & canales. i hope mourinho can recover ramos.
with pedro león playing and serving the team with his nice and precise crosses, mourinho should let the attacking players practice headers. that header from higuain in the first 5min or so must be a goal during season.

you already notice IMO the taste of mourinho in the teams defending and moving back (the off ball movements). it's much more organized and coordinated. moreover things happen as a unit now.
in attack though, they seem to be lost completely. in comparison to the defending, the attack is chaos. maybe they haven't reached the lesson yet. but then again, still 2 weeks to go till kick off

all in all i was surprised. i though bayern would walk all over madrid given the circumstances. in conclusion, i would say that this was a very good preseason test. maybe a bit too early though for madrid.

as for özil...should really join, it means VdV is off to bayern.

PS:

the beckenbauer trophy is one damn big monster :D

i thought the madrid defense looked attrocias but that could be chalked down as the reason that beast stated above

Encouraging but pre-season friendlies are no indicator. I fancy us to make it three in a row but it will go to the wire and RM wont be dropping to many points
