I can't understand this VDV love, tbh...He was a terrible 2 way player whose only utility was in the final third, offensively...Guy couldn't track back or link up well enough to spring all those counters that became RM's M.O. last season (And this one, apparently)...Very little quality technically despite being hyped as a technical player either for someone who ended up playing wide most of the time

His biggest assets were his fks and considering that he rarely had the chance to do that at RM, not sure what utility he was other than as some 'super sub'...12 goals in 2 seasons or something like that?...I don't get the infatuation with the player, he was rubbish anytime Barca played against him...At least Wesley showed his quality

Wes was a bad move, VDV won't be missed...More likely his wife will be missed far more

BTW, Ozil gets #23 now that VDV is off to Spurs...Newly promoted (Shock, true) Mateos (CB) will wear Drenthe's #15, making him the 5th cantera player to be on the first team...Of course, only 3 of them have actually been with the club throughout their playing (Adan, Casillas & Mateos)
