True, but IMO if Redknapp uses him well he will become the key player for them as hardly anyone down there possesses the abilities that he has.

Modric plays a bit deeper which is good for VdV as he won't be competing with him for the same spot.

But no one is as hard working as Van Der Vaart. I don't know if he's not going to lose motivation due to the move to such team, team where he's not as likely to win anything as if he stayed in Madrid. It kinda suprised me that he decided to take a step back in his career which he was constantly saying that he wouldn't take.

Modric has a much higher work rate than VdV. It's a nice move for VdV. He was good in Hamburg, tried in a bigger club and didn't work so it's back to basics. Can't see it as a bad move at all.

Funny that you would comment. Who else is there worth a mention that is of VdV's profile?

I think saying that it didn't work is too much. I think if Pellegrini didn't blindly choose Kaka as a first team regular, VdV could have had much more respect and trust if he delivered and last season it was likely to happen as he was very motivated to play on the highest level possible. I don't what's his limit, but we can't judge on the fact of 2-3 months of regular football if he's been there for 2 years.
