But then the money you could have got from selling eto'o has also gone.

but there was no money we could have gotten for eto'o.

good god some of you people are right belt loops.

once eto'o rejected city, that was it. no one would have signed him for any money, why waste it? they would have waited a year and picked him up on a free in summer 2010.

that's why, once he rejected city, we were suddenly balking at paying a mere 5m extra to land david villa. why? because we would still have eto'o on our books and pep wanted him gone.

signing zlatan allowed us to get a player we wanted and get rid of one we didn't.

I'm not talking accounting, net, valuation, hedge funds, derivatives or interest swaps... I'm talking english.

I'm sure 70m is in the books, for tax and accounting purposes as jatin and irv say, but we paid inter 49m in cash. that's a fact even beast won't dispute.

so I judge zlatan as a 49m asset, because as far as I'm concerned eto'o had no value.

I'm sure the accountants see it differently, as will our detractors. but I'm not an accountant or a detractor, so frankly my dears I don't give a damn.

cash (€50million)
Samuel Eto'o (€20million)

Inter Milan Asset (value)

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (€70million)

now FCB transfers out Samuel Eto'o and cash for Zlatan Ibrahmovic. Imagine that you have €10 and a chocolate bar. You see that I have an FCB scarf. You want that scarf, but I don't want to give it to you. But you tell me that you'll give me the money AND a chocolate bar for the scarf. Irrespective of what the scarf is worth at the store, I take your offer. In this transaction you've given me €10 and a chocolate bar. You have lost those items and gained a scarf. Same deal w/ FCB, we gave Inter €50m and Samuel Eto'o and got Ibrahimovic back.

now as for the valuation of €70million, that's another lesson for when I have more time.
I put it to you, Irvin Thombie, that you sub-conciously compared Samuel Eto'o to a Chocolate Bar. Racist.

Real Madrid. U got to love this club. This club brings so much happiness into the world.
The madridistas who were so confident they could get the 10th CL cup..their shirt shopping spree who made the board happy. And now they made us, culés, happy. THEY SHOULD BE WEARING UNICEF !

UNICEF should start considering this as a `bright angle` to see Madrid from now on. They are here to make Cules happy :worthy::worthy::worthy:

"
Real Madrid 1-1 Olympique Lyonnais

The Champions League was unfair with Real Madrid once again. The Whites had more than ten chances on goal, but Olympique Lyonnais were more effective. Pjanic's goal equalised the score following Ronaldo's opener. The Madridistas dominated the match and deserved to reach the next round...
...
The match didn't change much after half-time.
...
Real Madrid never ceased trying to net more strikes, but they kept stumbling on the fierce French defence"

Casillas:
"The goalkeeper asked the fans to forgive the team for yesterday's match and said the squad is excited about the possibility of winning the league title.
...
We have to move on. The team seems sad to me. The easy thing to do would be to give up. We are all disappointed, team, Club and fans alike, but we want to get over this by winning the league title. We want to forget about what happened with a victory against Valladolid."

HOW THE FUCK has eto'o got no fucking value?

in 2009 he was easily amongst the top 5 strikers in the world, every club that could afford him, would have been interested. In is only in your opinion that no club would have gone in for him except city - you cannot prove this.

So are you telling me Juve, AC, Bayern, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, City etc would not have paid £20 - £30m?? had they had the cash, city excluded? then sorry but they'd snap Eto'o up in a second.

So when you say there was no money you could have gotten for eto'o then that is a major misjudgment by you. You easily would have had offers from him, were he in the £20m price range - easily.
