So because x club signs x talented player in a position where we have too many players as it is, our scouts are questioned? :facepalm1:

I mean, he is a prototypical Box to Box midfielder. Only Rakitic is similar in him and i would not mind having him in the squad at all.

We have much more pressing needs this window than stacking the midfield further. Dumping half our transfer budget into a young midfielder would be moronic.

I would say our midfield and defense need to be looked after much more than our forwards. Iniesta and Rakitic are only world class CM's we have. Roberto is a good back up but if one of them gets injured, we might as well pray. Just looks like Bayern did good business getting Sanches right away.

I disagree. Defense and attack must be clear priorities, which, luckily, Lucho knows.
Also, we've never had world class players in every single backup position. Solid squad players we have, though, and I'm probably going to be called out as being overly optimistic in this regard, but I still feel that Sergi Roberto, Rafinha and Denis will be able to contribute more than the Pogba or bust brigade will have us believe.

If he turns out a great player, then yes, Bayern will have done great business, but that has got nothing to do with us or our current situation.

Renato Sanches signaling to Cristiano Ronaldo that he should have stayed central on his run vs. Hungary

no because i have seen him now closely and he definitely doesn't seem to be just x talented. he is a super super talented player who is 18 years old. And in a couple of years when we will need to replace iniesta, we will find the market to be over inflated.

Talents come and go. The flow doesn't start nor stop with Renato Sanches.

Having seen him against us (Croatia) coming in and changing the game for Portugal, I think Bayern did a great piece of business.

Portugal's best player by miles
Would have loved him here
He has everything
Had many wrong passes, bad decisions, several bad first touches. Still was the best Portuguese player in attacking phase!!
Says much about others' form/limits at the moment!

a bit more maturity, a bit more tactical routine and the guy is set imo.
Ancelotti will have noticed his tactical flaws and will vow to improve him.
As a footballer he's very convincing.
