I'm confident we'll sign Robinho & for less than City paid for him. Can't complain if it turns out that way.

You can be confident all you want estevé.

Our owners would never allow him to be sold on the cheap. :p

If he does leave, it frees up that left side for Ribery. :party00231:

I continue to say the pursuit of the player, if true, is a mistake...He's simply not Barca material, IMHO...He may have some joga bonito in him but we all know the rest of what the thumbsucker brings to the table...I was looking even recently at his ManCity highlights/goals and I couldn't fine one where he was celebrating with teammates...Every goal celebration is a spectacle onto himself...That kind of ego seems fitting for the circus in the Spanish capital, not Barca, IMHO.

You lot paid 32M pounds for him, yeah? Barça are hardly gonna pay that for a player who hasn't proven (yet) that he's worth what was paid for him. I'm not saying he'll go on the cheap but he'll probably move for less. As for Ribéry, he said he doesn't fancy a move to England so I dunno...

You musn't be looking hard enough then. Check when Ade scored at Blackburn for a start.

He does it all the time.

Don't believe everything the papers say about him.

Yea about that sum. The market has inflated even more since then though. If Zlatan is worth £70 million then Robinho is certainly worth £30 million.

I'm sure 200k a week could change Ribs mind. I personally don't think he's coming anyway tbh.

I'd much rather have a younger prospect.

emoshanal makes a very good point about robinho and pedro.

the thing is, robinho used to be able to score goals out of nothing and win games for teams. he did it loads for real in 07/08. never more obviously than that recre game they were drawing at the end of their slump, then he came off the bench in his first appearance back from the injury (that saw him miss real's slump) and scored twice and real won the game and refound their form.

he did it for brazil, too. in the early days before dunga had realise josue and mineiro are shit and his brazil team was cack, it was robinho that delivered for him and basically kept him in a job almost single-handedly at times.

dunno whether city have taken that out of him or not but he hasn't improved any in the past year. if anything he's gotten worse (adapting to a new league, so it's natural).

Robinho's been playing well for Brazil while he's been at City actually.

Remember the goal against Italy at Wembley?

From our official website today:

Mark Hughes has warned Barcelona that he is not about to ship out one of his "shining lights" as the European champions look longingly towards Brazil star Robinho.

The City boss said: "There's always speculation and noise surrounding Robi. Read the interview and the vast majority of his comments are positive ones about Man City and what's happening here.

"He made a real impact last season and scored goals for us under difficult circumstances when the team was not playing consistently well. He was one of the few shining lights last year.

"We're not in the process of taking outstanding players out of the team. We want to bring in outstanding players to complement the outstanding ones we already have.

"We don't want to move Robi or anybody else out of the squad. We're looking to build, we're not looking to dismantle."

Like I said; Sounds increasingly like the Zlatan mill.

Moratti also couldn't see Inter without Zlatan three months before the actual deal.

Yea and you ended up paying £70 million to get him.

I doubt you've got that much hidden away unless you go further into debt. So you'll have to give us a player too.

We actually paid around the same amount of cash as you did for Robinho. The pound crashed, not the euro. And what we paid was eventually far below the original statements of Moratti.

So again, this feels a lot like Zlatan.

Zlatan is a teamplayer, and actually a really cool guy.
Robinho is not a team player and doesnt seem humble enough to play for barca.

I can swear that I was reading the same "ego worries" about Zlatan, just before he came here. Not in this forum, because I was not around then, but almost everywhere else.

He did have "ego issues" in Inter though and has been here barely 3 months. Things are going perfect for Barca atm. so obviously there won't be any troubles.
