Either that or you give us more money than we payed for him.
except yer not running the club.
hughes clearly doesn't like robinho and I doubt robinho much likes hughes, who is a dour manager that likes his players to be fast and physical and has little indulgence for skill, technique and flair (witness ireland being clamped down on the more control hughes has over the squad and its members) - shuany only gets by because he works like a dog.
it's a shame, because I thought on last year's showing (with robinho and ireland starring) and given adebayor's arrival; city would become a flair alternative to chelsea. it's no secret I like man utd but that has never made me automatically dislike city as I'm not from manchester (so never felt the local rivalry) and city have been shit through most of my life so as a sporting rivalry I haven't felt it either. plus city didn't kill 39 people. but anyway, my point is I was hoping city would be nice to watch and while they would always be hollow, fake and generally unsettling in terms of their origins they could at least play lovely football and be fun to watch and I could "like" them to an extent.
sparky, however, would rather make them chelsea mark II. and the owners appear to back him in his aspirations, as they've let him assemble that type of squad. and to be fair, it's sensible to back the manager and I can see why hughes would go the easy way of pace and power rather than the difficult way of skill and technique.
but I can also see why robinho would want to leave such a club and why sparky would be happy to get rid of him.
you won't ever get good money for players when you sell them btw. everyone knows you don't need money so they're gonna pay you what THEY want for players, not what you think they're worth. you could take a 100% loss on robinho and it wouldn't make a bit of difference financially.
