Ronald Koeman

It's the fact he claimed he wouldn't play players out of their natural position. He's already done that a lot this season. He claimed we didn't deserve to lose to Real Madrid. He's saying and doing a lot of things that are making me question his ability.

He also looks clueless on the bench when things aren't going his way. He just sits there with no emotion. He honestly reminds me of another Valverde.

Worst game (2nd half) under Koeman together with that one vs Getafe.

Can you blame Koeman though?
No way, since:
1) He is the first who is trying to rebuild, and has already introduced new things. The 4-2-3-1, the imperative to press and play with intensity that this team has not done for 5 years.
2) He plays two 17yr olds and a 19yr old, and considers them basic units of what he is building.
3) and at the same time he has the serious obstacles coming from the board - to bow to Messi and play him 90 min every game, and also try to work out Griezman so as to make his transfer seem not like a disaster - which do not allow him to fully clean the house like Pep did in 2008

4) And after all, when we play badly he admits like he did today. You get an honest statement "we lost control of the game", whereas from Ernie you would always get an "it is what it is"

PS: Don't think that Poch or Gallardo could do much better at this point with the obstacles that exist.
Rebuilding is a long process, and it will not be complete until Messi leaves, Griezman is sold out, and Pique, Busi, Roberto, Alba move permanently to the bench

Some people still seem to have a high expectations for this team.
Why? Barca is a sinking ship and going through one of the worst transitional periods in its club history in possibly the worst transitional football era.
There aren't enough resources both inside and outside the club to properly rebuild this team.
Why expect a big result from Koeman already?
I am certain even legendary managers like Rinus Michels, Arrigo Sacchi, Johan Cruyff, Alex Ferguson won't make any meaningful differences compared to Koeman considering how bad the current situation is.

Bingo. This team is beyond help.
You could have a dream team of Klopp and Pep managing and they would still struggle.

I don't think anyone has high expectations for this team for a good few years until something new is built and we cut all the veterans. Finishing top 4 is not high expectations considering the money these guys are paid. It's actually a minimal expectation.

amazing how the narrative has shifted since Valverde left

Shitverde had these veteranos when the could still play and press a bit. They are completely shot now physically and especially mentally. Shitverde was hired to handle the transition process and integrate the youngsters slowly. Instead the asshole bent over for the seniors and did nothing. Barto and Shitverde destroyed Barca. Whoever followed is just trying to clean up the mess left behind by these terrorists.

This has been Barca for years. I am glad they are talking about it, finally.

( Although current Barca is actually trying, just not very good. )

something we all see and claim.
Positive is that Koeman is saying we don't press as a unit or don't move enough...now, this is postive only for a while, if it doesn't start to change that would mean he only says certain thing rather than do, but at least it's better to hear than we were in control, we were good, we suffered a bit or we were lacking that last magical ball.

Madrid won 3 Champions Leagues in a row playing like this though. Amazing what you can achieve with penalties and crosses...

Koeman 2019 - De Jong is playing out of position for Barca
Koeman 2020 - De Jong is CB!

De Jong has played 19 games as CB for Ajax too.
These things happen when a club is broke and can't afford to buy a new CB. Araujo is injured, Lenglet had discomfort, Umtiti is Umtiti. Pique was the only CB available. What do you expect Koeman to do? CB-situation is not his fault.

Find it ironic that a brilliant distance shooter like Koeman can't convince these clowns to shoot or find the back of the net.
Football is not about walking the ball into the net via 100 passes .
At times during the match Koeman looked incredibly frustrated and I thought he'd change into his kit and get on the pitch.

I was also shocked Pique scored that header. It's something we should do more often
