Ronald Koeman

If what I read online about Koeman is true, he rules with an iron fist and is a "my away or the highway" type of manager. So at least he'll clear the amigos who can't run anymore. And would set the ground for Xavi 1-2 seasons down the line.

This team doesn't need fancy tactics at this point. Just shaping the squad by rejuvenating it with quality fresh blood, proper trainings week in week out, and a staff who doesn't tolerate slackers who want to play based on name only.

I have hope that these guys aren't puppets and will put the Amigos to respect.

Good to hear. I expect some conflicts with the amigos who stay. Too bad this time they have to sit on bench or try harder.

hope he is wiser and has a balanced approach. somehow he phases out the old guard, but without disrupting the dressing room.

going all guns blazing in a big club never really worked for anyone. if he wants to play the hard man just so he get his way around, he'll be gone in a couple of months.

Who is Messi least amigo?

Maybe we start putting Messi least favorite amigo out first and then slowly upgrading to the other amigos.

If he starts benching all the amigos at once, he's gone in 2 weeks

I don’t think he will be able to change anything. Barto has given the players too much power and too long of contracts. Not going to be better until we get rid of the mid 30’s players. Messi included.

Rakitic, Busquets, Pique, Alba, Suarez from least to most favorite amigo. Rakitic, Busquets and Pique are interchangeable imo.

If the veterans start to moan when they see the training sessions are hard, and they fall behind because they are past it physically, then the staff needs to put them to respect.

Use the tools managers have: disciplinary action in terms of fines, exclusion from training session, leaving them on the bench in games due to not doing enough in trainings, or even leave them out of the squad. Keep at it until they learn the lesson. No exceptions. Properly intense training sessions are the bread and butter of physical conditioning for a full hard season.

The lack of such discipline is why we can't even last 30 mins of proper intensity in a match vs a serious side.

Of course he can do something. Bench them. Doubt Koeman is coming here and leaving Nederlands without assurance that he'll have full power. Doesn't fit the image of puppet managers like Valverde and Setien.

Will be interesting to see how much we will pay him. I imagine its quite a bit concidering the shit show we currently are and that he might be replaced when the new board is elected

He knows exactly what's waiting for him. He'll be under no illusions that we need major regeneration and have a rotten core

He is a strong enough character to stand up to the senior players, potentially removing some of them from the club. I cant imagine him been dominated by the players though. He would walk before been controlled by senior players. Decent manager in the short term for us

Imagine Barto goes back on his word about the amigos and Koeman doesn't sign in the end. Pimienta comes in instead, all amigos stay and Setien and Abidal are out.

*Messi evil laugh*
