Ronald Koeman

I think he came also because with coronavirus the NT football has taken a hit.

Probably realised it may be his last chance as well and health worries this year could have changed his thinking of how often these chances come by or how long he will be in game.

Quite like the sound of team he is putting together.

Likes of Larsson is a serious bloke that will want to win and wont be there in awe of the club or players.

A separate fitness and diet regime just for Dembele would suffice. Can't really worry how Dembele plays if he doesn't play at all in the first place.

That's a whole other issue. My problem when Dembele when he plays is that he's too busy ball watching and waiting for the ball to arrive instead of moving off the ball and getting into better positions. We need more runners off the ball and if Dembele is to succeed at Barca he need to become a player like that.

Yeah he has some really basic flaws.

Fucks up the most simple of passes and is awful at trying to protect the ball.

Former Bar?a player Henrik Larsson (48) will be Ronald Koeman's assistant coach alongside Alfred Schreuder. Larsson's announcement could take place tomorrow and he and Koeman could also be presented. Larsson's work could focus specifically on forwards

Not much to be optimistic about these days but this looks nice.

hope our forwards start scoring these

Even though Victor Font has made it clear that if he wins Koeman will get sacked, he still has a good chance to switch the dynamic of the team. I see him trying a 4-2-3-1 which will see FDJ and Pjanic sharing the midfield. Fati will have to battle out his spot in the starting lineup vs Dembele, while Trincao would be given a shot at the right flank.

You're welcome

I do think Dembele showed improvement in many regards. He dealt with setbacks with his frequent injuries. But did think he became a faster passer instead of keeping the ball too long. And improved in decision making. Really want to see him a full season without injuries and with built confidence.

Two VERY positive things. Koeman said in a interview we lack runners and has too many ball to feet players. This is our issue number 1 and Koeman knows it.

Bartomeu said Koeman will be in charge of transfers. If he acknowledge the issue but isn't in charge of transfers then it doesn't matter.

Very good for now.

I don't think managers fail because they do not know or understand football.
They are professional coaches. They obviously should all know what is wrong in theory.
But the reality is a lot more than just a theoretical understanding of what is wrong and what should be done.
It's all about how to plan physical/tactical training, how to transfer one's idea to actual field, how to handle and manage players, how to motivate players, how to improve players, how to manage political relationships with the Board, etc.
It's those practical moments that decide which managers succeed or fail, not because they do not understand the tactical issues.

Dembel? is done. Separate fitness and diet regime should have been put in place way before his injuries. Now it's too late.

I know it's a dangerous thing with anything regarding Barca these days, but i'm cautiously optimistic with Koeman in charge.

Gives me light Lopetegui vibes tbh. Leaving a super strong national team before the tournament to fail miserably at a rebuilding top club. I wish him all the best.

Could you guys imagine that he tries false 9 again? It would mean that we don't need to spend big on a striker and have at least only one player who doesn't work hard. Sure, Dembele - Griezmann - Messi would be possible too. Just saying.

Dembele/Ansu - Messi/Griezmann - Griezmann/Trincao
Puig - Pjanic
De Jong
Alba - Lenglet - Araujo - RB
Ter Stegen

Clearly different case than Lopetegui.

Koeman will have a meeting with Busquets, Alba and Piqu?. With Piqu?, he must decide if he is willing to return to a work regime that mirrors the rest. With Busquets, if he wants to take a supporting role on the team. With Alba, to see if he is focused [as]

AS as source so maybe not very reliable, but it makes me wonder if these players would accept this type of meeting with the new coach had we lost say 1-2 against Bayern?
It took a real mauling for the seniors to understand that they're past it.
