xG (expected goals), it is a supposed count of what goals you should have scored based on the angle of the shooting and positioning (based on statistical calculations of thousands of goals).

It's much more sophisticated than people think. There are different models though.
Not overrated at all.
The only thing that is missing is factoring in how good/bad an individual finisher is, and how good/bad the GK receiving his shot is.

The metrics simply say that our attackers have been wasteful in finishing, while our defense concedes despite not giving away that many chances.

We have been super wasteful, even in some of the games we won 2-1 we could of easily had 5 or 6. Fati is a big miss as he was the only one at the beginning of the season who only needed 1 or 2 chances to score. A decent striker gets big numbers in this current side as we are creating lots of opportunities.
