Ronald Koeman

A new manager won't help in this case.
Barca needs to grasp that times changed and the contemporary high-class game is based on execution-speed and on speed as such.

Having the boring and absolutely counterproductive possession, even when the opponent is opened up, having twice as much slow passes as the winner opponent often has, leads nowhere anymore.
Giving safety passes and the like, getting forward only when the unnecessary passes are almost unbearable anymore, represent the past of this game.

The two central defenders are slow and clumsy, Busquests looks like a grandpa (with still considerable technique - but who cares), Griezmann is slow and exceptionally one-footed, not a good and reliable finisher at all, Pedri is really talented but his time comes in 2-3 years, nobody wants, dares or can shoot from a distance (Rakitic was at least brave and occasionally good in it), Dembele has no space because he always faces a solid stationary defense due to this outdated style, no player can serve Messi on his level needed, so essential problems are piling up.

A new coach will not be able to teach a modern, fast, effective and efficient game to this guys (who play the very same way against a 3rd league copa opponent), because for who knows how many years they have been told that mere possession is the "Barca style"...

I came here to say more or less the same. So boring, after every game we are basically having same discussion. It's fine since this is forum, but nothing changes even though we have new players now. We have new RB, young FDJ, Fati (didn't play yesterday but nothing would change), Pedri, we got rid of "deadwood" and yet everything is the same.

I will say something that could be blasphemy for some here: but if we had prime Xavi and Iniesta we would still lose! Yes, we would be more creative but we would lose.
We simply refuse to evolve. Current name of the game is speed and dynamic, football changes every day. We had years of domination of Seria A and it came to the end, than Premiership, then La Liga, but we are only "big" club that doesn't move foreword. This is why we are the only "big" club that doesn't lose but gets embarrassed every year, it's just a question who will be that club to destroy us?!
When we introduced tiki taka we offerd something new - basically rondos on entire pitch, and we were successfull, even legendary, but things change and we refuse to adopt.
L'pool is also a good example - bad form, almost lost the league already, yet they can still be a threat to anyone with speed, movement, energy...does anyone think if we played this out of shape L'pool it would be any different that with PSG?
We are playing football in 3rd gear while big teams play in 5th, sometimes we can cut corners but every year we'll get demolished at least once.
All the mediocore coaches that came tried some cosmetic changes: EV wanted a bit more conservatism, QS wanted more flair and now RK is trying to put some energy but he want be able to do it. We need to kill, and I mean murder, our so called style and evolve...then we'll see if Pedri is great, if Dest is enough and who we need to buy. With this style it doesn't matter at all. Add Haaland - nothing changes, he would be one tall, isolated idiot in the box.

Any theory as to why tiki taka died?
My theory is that that was a new revolutionary way of making the opponents tired (especially second halves) because of the amount of running opponent have to run.
But, with the advent of coaches like mourinho and especially especially Simone (later on klopp) players nowadays are conditioned to run after those empty passes for eternity without even running out of stamina.. I noticed that especially vs atletico madrid (at least klopps teams have some possession) They just chase the ball with intensity until the final whistle, no problem.
In my opinion, the seniors of barca since they are dinosaurs who failed/refused to adapt, somehow still aim to make empty endless passes "to make opponents run". As one sees its literally useless now.. Anyway that's what I think.

It doesn't even matter, your theory is good for sure, but it doesn't matter. Every era had legendary teams but they all ended.
The way we defend as a unit is even more comical then our attack.
Honestly, without big changes (not in team department but mental) my biggest move would be to shorten the pitch - big pitches that we enjoyed before are now our enemies.

First of all we need a midfield again ? When we had our last strong midfield ? 2015 ? Its time to buy two good midfield players. Our offense looks good when Fati comes back. We also need new CB. Then im sure we will be on the top again.

Everything about your post is fine except for "Demb?l? would be good if he had space" narrative.

Barca in "big games" this season:

- lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in LaLiga
- lost 1-0 to Atleti in LaLiga
- lost 3-0 to Juve at home in UCL, game that decided who wins the group
- lost 3-2 to Athletic in Supercopa
- lost 2-0 to Sevilla in Copa del Rey
- lost 4-1 to PSG in UCL

for this reason alone, koeman has to go.

we can talk about being unlucky, not having the players he wants etc. but in the end, we crumbled in every decisive game this season.

february will end and with it all our hopes of competing for something. we'll have 3 full months of playing for nothing.

We also often have many problems against small teams, Ronald doesnt seem to be the right coach but i have to say that this team is also dead.

when i said that we're gifting scoring chances to any opposition for fun, i was laughed at and told that we create way more now and that's why we concede more.

He will be here next season and allowed a couple of transfers of his own. Barca is his dream job and realistically no other team competing in CL would go near him.

That's no disrespect to Koeman either, he's just not in the top tier when it comes to managers, that's the reality and he's pretty much halfway through his contract anyway. Not sure the club will want to blow more compensation money when his contract expires a season later.

I don't usually complain but the referees have an agenda against us.

Blatant handball not called.

Any other team gets that 2nd PSG goal disallowed for offside.

PSG should also have a pen for kicking Mbappe, second goal was checked with VAR it was close but onside. The loss was 100% our fault, if we cant score a goal without a pen we dont deserve a win.

Another day, another Cl humiliation. We are not good enough to win the El forget Cl.
I think Koeman has done a decent job. He's not a great manager but he's had the courage to play the youngsters. Why would any decent manager come here. There's no money for transfers, shit mentality and a bunch of old has beens.
