This time he saw this being his last ever chance so he jumped at it. I don't buy the "he took the job to help Barca" schtick his buddies in the press throw out.

I thought his contract included an exit clause the new President could use to move on from him. I remember it being reported at the time he was appointed, but apparently that's not the case. Would cost us 12m to fire him.

All Laporta had to do was say that 1) Koeman was not his hire and 2) The ending to the season was disastrous so therefore decisions need to be made.
