Ronald Koeman

The squad only knew about the 3-5-2 system a few hours before the game against Benfica. Training sessions weren't focused on preparing on the tactical aspect of the game at all. [sport]

Always take rumours with a pinch of salt, but that reflects precisely my problem with Koeman. It always looks like he shortly decides before games what and who to play without working on the details of our system and play at all. He's stuck in the 90's with old school coaching methods, which explains why he worked well for a national team, where you generally don't have time for in-depth analysis and just pick a team+system.

So you're paying out the 12 with the 97M cap? Or is he gonna fold to Laporta and forfeit the money despite being dragged through mud by Barca media?

The 97ME cap barely matters, could just as well be 400ME. We are working with the 4:1 rule all summer long anyway, there should still be some leeway through the Griezmann deal (one would imagine). But hard to have a definite answer.

Remind me what 4:1 rule is? I'm slow today

This looks like Laporta shambles from afar.
Why sack him a month in? Why not replace earlier if you had fundamental disagreements on character and methods? It wasn't all dictated by Messi salary after all, was it?
Why bring in LDJ of all people later on?

Romano reporting they're looking for replacement so it is decided and Koeman sounds like it is, but not sure who the right man is. Barca B coach maybe.

This is what I am saying man, it has literally been fucking ages since we have had anyone who has had any sort of clue in terms of how to compete and properly manage a squad.

Absolutely true and I am happy Laporta is trying to change the coaching culture. It's just as past it as our golden generation.

It's not the players, it's everything from front office to coaches etc. Everything needs to be reviewed. Scouts, medical team, physical training etc etc

Koeman: "If we don't have wingers to look for one on one, we have to look for full-backs. A coach's job depends on the players he has. If he had money, he would have Messi here and other players to dominate his system? #FCB 👥

You can spend a quarter of the salaries you save (and transfer fees you generate) when you are above the salary cap (like we are whether it's a 97ME cap or 400ME).

With Griezmann gone (~40ME salary) that should be 10ME to spend already (mind you we still got Luuk, so who knows where we are exactly). Plus whatever we generated before+Koeman's salary. But it's not really transparent.

Even with the whole 10M it wouldn't be enough to let Koeman go , let alone hire another manager on top of that.

I mean it's close enough :p Has there been any info that the salary cap applies to staff? I think that's kind of weird tbh. But I imagine we have the money to sack Koeman, otherwise there shouldn't even be rumours to begin with or things will get really weird

Not that I know , but how else would you explain the constant bickering back and forth between Laporta and Koeman when Laporta has the means to let him go but somehow hasn't pulled the trigger the past 2 months.

Since everyone is in here:

Thoughts on the Pirlo rumors?

Don't know enough about him since I didn't really follow Juve last season. On a positive note: He has already learned the hard way that coaching a top club and playing for a top club are totally different things. Has probably done a bunch of mistakes he has learnt from. These are experiences that are bad for the CV, but good for his development as a coach and mistakes he won't make at his next club.

yeah, and old man suarez, who was blamed here for not running enough, went to atletico.

let's just stop with this crap about training at barca. i'm sure they follow the training regimen that most top level clubs do.

turan was 'tired of running with Atletico' in games because he was always a lazy bastard that played for a defensive team. aguero didn't specifically say that training was not on par, just that he went in earlier at city.

you want powerful and fast football? you get the required players and manager for that.

People here just want us to be LiverpoolMK2. At the end of the day, Barca is the most succesful football team of this century, while Liverpoop is....meh. But this is telling you everything about our '' fans''. Just glory hunter dumbasses, who started following Barca when we were succesful. Let them jump the ship i'd say.
