His legacy took a massive dump considering he joined a high flying Juventus and turned them into a team struggling to get 4th in Serie A and then joined a Man Utd who were looking to be on their way up with a 2nd place and made them fall like a rock.

All while Real Madrid have continued winning CL titles without missing him.

Also he didn't do anything for Portugal in the EURO final lol.

That said he's still a top 10 player all-time, but you cannot be in the GOAT discussion without a WC Trophy or at least a legendary WC campaign, sorry. That's just how it works in all sports.

Dude the Juve stint boosted his legacy like nothing else, forget the EURO, forget the cls, bro was winning titles with a dead team as we saw it after he left...

I agree the Manu stint was negative for the team even though individually he was probably the best 37 years old player ever in Pl 👀

Bro he lead them to final and then became the GOAT coach in final, he played an immense role in that final, just not on the pitch and Eder said Cristiano motivated him to make this umbelievable shot!

I dont like this logic otherwise Pele is easily the GOAT because he won 3 Wcs, thats why we should rather look what the player has done what other players couldnt do (see post above)

Now lets focus on barca match, we can continue after the match, have fun, siu ✌️

If Fati used his brain instead of writing stupid shit just for the sake of being part of a conversation, he would realise that with his logic Cristiano is not even in the top 10 European players of all time, let alone being in the Goat debate.

Don't know what is worse, him honestly believing the shit he says or his pathetic trolling attempts.

The only reason why people don't put him on ignore is because he oppened Flicks thread.

Ronaldo's time at Juve was too underrated. Sums up the media bias that he was expected to win a CL with this team while Messi got a pass for being humiliated several years straight with better squads.

I like you mate but all this is deluded.

I know for a fact if Messi had joined Juve and been bounced out of the CL by Ajax, Porto and Lyon, and taken them to 4th after winning like 7 in a row, you Tempt and other Ronaldo fanboys would destroy him.

Also, Ronaldo was MEDIOCRE at Euro 2016. He had two good games. The only reason he needed to score goals against Hungary was his poor performance and missed penalties against Iceland Austria. Terrible against Poland and Croatia too. Don't bring up an assist that was a very weak shot that was mishit.

Also, this 'he coached the team' is more Ronaldo cultism propaganda - he came out during extra time and basically screamed at them, didn't encourage them. It was more a case of 'don't you cunts fuck this up for me and destroy my legacy' rather than any sort of genuine encouragement.

He wasn't the best 37 year old ever in the PL. That is insane. United got worse with him in the team. All that matters is how many goals the TEAM scores and he cannibalises the goalscoring in every side he plays in by needing teams to set up for him while the others don't score any.

The fact is he's basically been finished since he left Real Madrid.

Real GOATs pull their team to victory without excuses

Aye the fact C Ronaldo fans constantly have to make all sorts of inventive excuses for his failures is proof he is overrated.

There's loads of gaps in his CV - poor in most CL Finals he has played in, only won La Liga 2 seasons out of 9 while Barca won 6, terrible at World Cups, had to sacrifice his all-round game to poach goals, the Juve debacle where they got worse when he was there, same with Man United, his goal and assists record in every game Portugal exit a tournament, the fact Real Madrid have continued winning stuff since he left.

And that's before you get into the flaws in his football.

I honestly think he gets a massive boost in the all-time debate beause he's such a famous guy off the pitch, and also because people think since he scores as many goals with Messi that must make them close (so if Messi is the GOAT Ronaldo must be close too, as if they are a fucking package deal) and nobody can ever change my mind on that,.

Probably wrong thread, but seeing as it has moved onto a GOAT debate.

What is weird is that people put so much stock in the World Cup.

It's by far the biggest tournament in the sport, and miles more prestigious than the CL, even if it isn't as high quality. Messi though would still be the best player ever to me (alongside Maradona) if he had never won the trophy. It's more like it's the cherry on top. I am not so shallow that one tournament (even the biggest) is a deciding factor for me.

I have never seen a player with such a unique skillset as Messi (which is what makes Ronaldo's mentally unhinged rants about being the 'most complete player' even funnier). The guy didn't have to win the World Cup to be considered the best player ever, but I am glad he did because those who hate him as a player (because they love Ronaldo) now have less ammunition against him in their rants.

He's at worst the second-best player ever and it really would have been a travesty had ne never become a world champion. But he did.
